Checking codes- what does a solid CEL mean?
could you tell the whole story?
The diagnostic tree for CEL always on is called a "hard code"and then you have to go into symptoms of the problem, as in.....what the engine runs like.
any other info would really be helpful.

Thanks for the fast reply.
The engine runs fine, nothing seems wrong at all. The thing is, I just got my timing belt done and now the MPG seems a lot lower(just watching needle and odometer).

WTF x2 He sent that to you in a PM........
To the OP,
If you are checking codes via the SCS pin connector short method. A solid CEL means that there are no codes stored on the ECU aka no problems found.
A solid CEL when you turn your ignition to the on position, without the SCS shorted, and without starting the car. Means there was a problem found during the ECU test curcuit. aka possible bad ECU
