Check engine light wont shut off, even after i fixed the problem the code put out
Can anyone help me! My car has had the check engine light on since i bought it....the code kept saying its the O2 sensor...i replaced both O2 sensors and the check engine light wont shut off...i've done this multiple of times...i even unplugged the computer and the light goes off for about a minute, then it comes back on....i have a 99 honda accord....and as of right now it keeps failing inspection...

which 02 sensor?
the code may come up as the primary or secondary 02 sensor, yes, but other problems could be causing it. more info needed.

If your Accord has the F23A1 engine, the pre-cat oxygen sensor is a regular oxygen sensor.
If your Accord has the F23A4 engine (ULEV), the pre-cat sensor is an Air/Fuel Ratio sensor.
Post the DTC code. Also check whether you have the F23A1 or F23A4 engine.

The code is P1167....i replaced the O2 sensor before and after the cat converter, and still the light stays on....my engine is F23A...I had a F23A4 engine (ULEV) and the code was the same, then that engine blew and i had it replaced by a honda mechanic to a F23A, and the code still read P1167...and even then i replaced both the primary and secondary O2 sensors...could it be my computer is messed up?

a short to ground in the blk/yel alternator wire could cause the ecu to set a p1167. and blow the #6 (15 amp) fuse in the dr's under dash fuse box.
so, check and repair the alternator wire if need be and replace the blown fuse

Check to see if the mechanic did something to the wiring for the sensor. The F23A4 you had previously had an Air/Fuel Ratio sensor.
