CHECK ENGINE light on??????
Hey everyone... maybe someone can give me some advice. I have a 2000 accord v6 and I sprayed a bottle of the throttle body cleaner into the throttle body. After about 2 minutes later, the check engine light came on. I thought it was normal since a lot a cars like the camry does that and eventually goes away after about 10 miles of driving. I drove for about 60 miles already and it does not turn off. I tried turning off the car, checking all the plugs, etc. Anyone cleaned their throttle body and had this problem? Do you think resetting the ECU will help? Thanks for your input.
Pull the engine code before you reset the ECU. After you do that, remember the code, and then reset the ecu. The light will go off. If it comes back on, compare the codes.
hope you did not use the stuff that can mess up your sensors.... some of the stuff can damage some of the newer sensors......
you will most likely find a cyl miss-fire code caused by the cleaner.just clear the code. Also on your v-6 there is a recall [service bullitin] on your egr ports clogging up. This will give you a p401 code if you have a scanner. check with your dealer on this.
