Default Bought a used tach, now Idle rpm is too high.

Is there a calibration screw or adjustment on the tach to set the idle rpm.
Idle rpm used to be 750, now it's 1100 rpm.

Thanks.

Tach=Tachometer. Reads RPM...

Are you sure the tach is not F-Up... IDK but is the reading in the back like loose? It actually reads it perfectly but the meter is off. IDK... Show us a pix =D

I bought a used instrument panel and just pulled out the tach.
I looked at the original one I took out and it has a screw adjuster on top.
Maybe that was it. I'll take a pic later.

No. I just pulled the whole tach assembly.
No need to pull the needle when pulling the whole assembly.

Okay, just making sure. A lot of people like to pull the needles off before they realize they don't have to. At least, that's their excuse.

So, just to clarify... Is it the actual idle rpm that is too high, or is it just that the tach reads too high?

you still havent answered what tach it is. Is it from an accord? Honda, toyota chevy? If its autometer, theres an adjustment in the back, and it can be calibrated. If its OEM Honda, the needle probably needs to be repositioned.

It's a used Honda Accord 1991 automatic instrument panel. I pulled the whole tach assembly and transfered it to the one in my car. My car is a 5=speed manual.
I saw a calibration screw that is covered with tape in the back of the tach. I will try that first and report back.

Here is the screw I was talking about.
I will pull the dash instrument bezel and see if I can adjust the idle RPM.
