Battery and Charging
I have a 90 Accord EX. I bought it less than two years ago so I am not sure how old the battery is. The car has been sitting because has some cylinder problems. Once a month I would start it and it was fine. About two weeks ago it didn't start and needed to be jumpstarted. I drove it to its current resting spot and now every 2 days it needs to be jumpstarted. Once it starts it seems fine but overnight the power goes down. Do you think this is an alternator or a problem with the battery since it was idle for a couple of months. Nothing, including an alarm is on to drain the power.

Re: Battery and Charging (toughlou)
Try running the car without the battery if you think it is the alternator.
And
Check the voltage of the battery with the car off, After you run it awhile.

Running the car without the battery is probably a bad idea - even though it was a common test for cars made 20+ years ago, your really not supposed to do that in newer cars. Take the battery over to autozone and have them test it, it should be free. If you want you can even take the alternator over there and have them test it too. Good luck!
