Default aftermarket headers

What do you have to remove (how hard is it basically) to replace your stock headers. Is there anything I should know about swapping to aftermarket headers in a 94 ex?

EX headers are pretty decent and are about the same as a DC Sports header

HeadER (for a 4cy) and HeadDERS (for V6's)

Not too dificult to do the work, you could remove and install the aftermarket (high flow) one in one hours or so (maybe an extra half hours for first timers).
Although F22B1 (ex, vtec) has a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, aftermarket header when installed will give you a noticeable slight difference.

if its like a 4th gen, there are a total of six bolts on the down pipe and all the ones on the head. some are a bit tougher than others. get some quailty tools that won't strip the bolt heads and go at it. i can change min in about 30 min now that my bolts have been broken loose recently after years of staying put.

A header may only give minimal power gains considering the manifold on that particular engine. The EX actually has a header under all those heat shields. It a hell of a design but, the down-pipe needs to be stepped up to maximize the flow of the EX design. When it comes to aftermarket headers, you could get one for weight reduction purposes and w/o having to modify anything. I must warn you, get a good header cause those EX manifold stepped up right are hard to beat. If it was me, I would modify the EX manifold and use the header money for a lightned crack pulley.

any header with power keep in mind will do more than minimum. the issuse would be if your engine is built to utilize the better flowing header. and why are you telling him to modify the header. leave your header alone. if you can't do it right, leave it alone. even some aftermarket header may need the collecter modified to step up to a bigger exhaust piping diameter. and leave your crank pulley alone as well. there are to many nightmares out there for people who didn't properly research the idea. keep it stock and put money elsewhere like you just stated. the stock pulley has the harmonic balancer on it unlike aftermarket ones. use them at your own risk.

after that step, either start saving your pennies for an engine swap or start building the internals of you existing. also if you keep the existing, you can always just boost it. but research and do it properly. shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg in the long run if you plan it out thoroughly.

Weight reduction and it's free, or you can make some money by selling your parts.
