Icon3 Accord Lowering help!

so im at stock ride hight right now , 4 door accord with the f22b2 in it , im considering lowering it with cut springs ... ik its ghetto but i wanna just try it for a bit , idk how much to cut ima use an extra set of springs from a junkyard off same car so it dont matter , i wanna close the wheel gap but not have to roll my fenders or scrape , ima get a lip later so it will look lower also .but right now i just wanna lower it a few inches so at least the wheel well is closest as possible without rolling fenders or car being all the way on the shocks , could anybody give some insight on how to do this right without messing anything up or my springs popping out as i hear happens with cut springs?!?!

Why not just run lowering springs on stock shocks for now? Or save until you can afford good springs and shocks. It will ruin how your car handles and just wont be worth it in the long run.

If you cut springs you will scrape.

Save up and buy a good set of coilovers or shocks/springs.

You also don't want $25 sleeve-overs....

Save your money, buy these as cheaper good coilovers, not the best but crap tons better than whatever else you're looking at currently.

Don't you have a 94-97? Those springs are for a 98-02....

And after 14+ years on the same stock shocks they are not going to really enjoy being lowered 2.5 inches all around. You will expedite their death exponentially - they were not designed to be at those heights.

And again, you're looking at ridiculously cheap no-name springs. You have no guarantees what their actual spring rates are (in fact they don't even mention them) and have no idea on the quality. Just save your money and buy decent shocks/springs or coilovers when you can. There is no need to rush into things. You may end up blowing more than just your shocks - ball joints, oil pan (from being low on unknown spring rates and bouncing), ride quality, etc.

Cheaper Shocks (OEM Replacement)? KYB GR-2 ~$250
Cheap Shocks? KYB AGX or Koni Reds (Street) ~$300-400
Good Shocks? Koni Yellows ~$500

Springs?
Eibach ~$200-250 (Sportline or Prokit)
Tein ~$200

etc

If you want to just sell it, make it as absolutely bone stock as possible and in the greatest condition and leave it alone. Have the interior shampooed and cleaned out, clean the trunk out, clean/degrease the engine bay, etc. Fix any minor broken items (burnt bulbs, etc) and just be done with it. Don't put on $30 lowering springs.....

I agree with Muffinman on this. I would rather buy a bone-clean stock car w/o any mods so I can do my own mods. Worth more in resale value also than some modded out cheap modified ricer...
