Accord 1999.Should I replace an engine?
Desperately need help.
Should I replace the engine? Still paying for the car and put a lot of money in.
There is no white smoke, and engine is not visibly overheating. The coolant disappearing after it cooled, not when I am driving.
Honda Accord 1999. In spring noticed oil in the coolant and was told I need to replace head gasket. It was done on May 25in Midas.They replaced the head gasket and machined head for 1500. The day the car was back it started to leak the oil and stained the driveway. Took the car back and complaint. Was told that everything was OK but noticed that something that was sticking out of the engine head was not sticking any more.
After that notice that coolant is disappearing. Took it to Firestone and was told that one of the hoses deteriorated and need to be replaced. Went back to the first shop and they replaced it for free. Nothing changed. Went back and they told they do not see anything. Did some research myself and saw the milk shake in my oil.
Went back and they told me they check the block and the head and I need to replace Cylinder head gasket. Made a big deal of giving me discount because the first time I did not diagnose the car with them(which I understand now was a huge mistake). It cost me 1050. Kept the car for 2 weeks so I rented. Nothing changed at all.
Took car back - they could not identify the problem. After another week they telling me - I need a new engine and offer me a discount on it in amount that I payed for a head. They told me they cannot test the block in the way it will show the exact problem.
