95 Accord LX Speedometer Issue
Hey all,
So my Accord has been having problems with the speedometer for the last month and I can't figure out how to fix it. It works momentarily and then will cut out and not work so I've resorted to using the speedo on my head unit for the mean time.
Strange thing is when the speedo is not working the "Brake Lamp" light on the dash will light up and when it is working it won't. The lights are all working and the brake fluid is fine so i'm not sure why this is happening. Wiring issue maybe?
If this was a wiring issue where would the wiring issue be? Into the cluster itself or somewhere else? I replaced the VSS so that is not the issue, and I don't think the Speedometer gauge is broken either. Everything else in the dash is working but the speedometer.
Any help/ideas is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Re: 95 Accord LX Speedometer Issue
Pardon?
Might want to verify the wiring to your aftermarket head unit is correct with no loose connections.
Verify all fuses are functional.
Verify all courtesy lights are also functional. Including trunk lamp.
G402 is shared with the brake lamp warning lights and speedo, it is the cluster ground, however I would verify that the wiring itself has not been hacked of modified.
It simply could be a loose connection at the cluster as well, verify the factory wiring/connectors are intact, clean and tight.
If any recent work, or prior to the problem, was done, recheck it and verify no damage to other systems.
Verify all your grounds are clean, tight and uninterrupted.
