92 Accord EX Transmission issues
Last week my D starts blinking at me and the transmission drops down to 2nd or 3rd gear and my RPMs shoot up. I did some research and figured it was the TCU. I buy a reman unit that works fine for a week and then my D starts blinking again. This time tranny appears to be stuck in 4th (limp mode). I can manually shift to 2nd. I pull the codes and I have an EGR code as well as the two codes for the Transmission Shift Solenoids. I've checked fluid levels, manually checked both solenoids and I'm getting clicking sounds from all 4 contacts. They looked clean and the tranny fluid looks brand new even though it as 5k miles on it. I'm still getting the EGR code as well as the two shift solenoid codes. Any suggestions on what I should look for next?
Thanks for your time

Re: 92 Accord EX Transmission issues
If the codes started appearing at the same time it may be a faulty or loose ground wire/strap. Follow the negative lead from the battery to the body/transmission. Not sure about 90-93 models, but 94-97 have an additional ground strap at the front of the engine(not car) that goes from the valve/cam cover to the both sides of the engine mount.
It's highly unlikely that both shift solenoids and the EGR would fault at the same time.

Re: 92 Accord EX Transmission issues
Thanks. I'll check it.
Checked all the grounds I could find. All were screwed down tight. The ground from the battery was a little corroded (discolored), but didn't look like an issue.
I read that the Throttle Position Sensor going bad could cause issues but in most cases it would trigger an error code. Any chance it would be something like this?? Anybody know of a good way to track down my problem?
Thanks.
