90 Accord help needed ASAP
I have a 90 accord that just stopped running. I cracked the banjo in the fuel filter and it was getting gas so then i checked for spark at the plug. After i found there was no spark at the plug i tried another plug till i checked for spark at the cap.. Nothing so i did a resistance check on the rotor, cap, and coil to find everything is ok. I did a check with the test light to see if it flashed on the coil and it did not so i bought the Igniter. Put that in today and still no spark. Power to everthing but no spark still. Checked the primary and secondary resistance on the coil and it was to spec. I hace no idea what elst to try besides the whole distributor. Any ideas?

Hi, I hope you have checked the fuses in the fusebox. Check that the power is coming on the distributor port with the ignition on. If the power is present then there is a chance that
the distributor could be faulty. I suggest you best get it checked before you go for a new one. In case you found your distributor faulty, then let me know so that I can provide you the address & telephone number for the supplier. I bought one for £155.00 inclusive of postage last year for my car. Good luck

Fuses are good and i have power to all the components inside the distributor. I Have no idea how to check the distributor but if anyone has any idea how to do a voltage of resistance check i can do it. I have a 7 month pregnant girlfriend and a 5year old son and now no car. I up to try anything at this point!

Re: 90 Accord help needed ASAP
Hi azstunter 13, My car all of a sudden died. towed home. replaced with a new distributor and it sorted the problem. If you live in u k then this is the supplier
Ignition Car parts ltd, Tel: 01268 857 880.I paid £155. word of warning, make sure you locate the distributor in correct position as the location slot is offset.
Another possible cause could be the main relay, which is located under driver's side dash.
The main relay can be repaired by resoldering the dry joint. I take it your battery is fine
and cranking the engine. I hope this will help, please keep me posted.

Re: 90 Accord help needed ASAP
Always check the main relay first. Have you checked the resistance of the plugs going to the distributer from the main harness?
There are electrical components in the distributer that cannot be tested unless you want to completely disassemble it and do tons of research to find resistances, etc. you would have better luck taking it to a shop that rebuilds them. These are common cars so you can probably pick up a salvage yard distributer for less than $75.
