1997 Auto Transmission Removal
I have a 97 Accord and had the auto trans rebuilt about 2 years ago. It works fine with the exception of it leaking around the converter area. They "fixed" it initially, but the leak came back after the warranty. My daughter is getting ready to go off to school and conteplating dropping the trans and replacing the seal. Years ago, I use to race and dropped the trans out and rebuilt it on a regular basis, so mechanically I am not so much concerned, but not sure with the new trans as far as what to watch out for. Any pointers, besides take it somewhere...lol. It looks like I need to pull the CV joints, center support bar, swing the right arm out of the way, support the motor, and start dropping it?
If it isn't too bad, that will be next weeks project, when I am off. Thanks for any pointers...

Not sure with an auto, but a manual is basically what you mentioned above. Just be sure that you have the engine supported and get the car HIGH enough off of the floor so the tranny has clearance to get out underneath the car.
Get a Helms manual and all will be good.

Is it critical to have a "transmission" jack or will a floor jack work? I know they make an adapter for floor jacks that makes it a transmission jack, but then you have to have the car that much higher.
