1994 Honda Accord keeps dying

Re: 1994 Honda Accord keeps dying
Okay I got the exhaust manifold installed but I am still having problems.
If I go try to start the car when it is cooler in the cab it will start up. You turn the key on and you hear the fuel pump relay and fuel pump kick on and the car will start.
When the car is hot (middle of day 95 degrees outside) the car will not start. You turn the key and you do not hear the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump kick on and all the car will do it turn over.
I wish I had a set of electrical schematics for this car. That way I would know if once you turn the key the power flowed thru the relay then to the fuel pump. I guess I will look in my Chilton manual a little harder.
This car does have a new OEM main fuel relay but who know it could be bad.
Thanks
Jason H.

If the temperature is having an effect I believe it can only be two things. The main relay or the ignition switch. Since the main relay is OEM I would pick up another ignition switch.

Re: 1994 Honda Accord keeps dying
Well I decided to bring the car to a shop that I have used for several years now. He said that the brain/computer is bad. He is going to get back with me on a price for a replacment. Does anyone have one laying around from a motor swap?

Is he a Honda mechanic? I have never seen the ECU cause an engine to quite without a CEL flashing. When you did the paperclip diagnostic did the CEL go out completely or stay solid?
Why does the mechanic think it's the brain/computer? How did he come to that conclusion? It's not very often that an issue like this ends up being the ECU. Hate to see you pay for an ECU and it not be the issue.

When I did the paperclip the light will throw a abs code and then stay solid.
I did not talk to him so I am not sure. We did talk for a while when I dropped the car off. I actually typed up a list of part changed and my symptoms.
In your experience what do you think my problem is?
As I stated before I want to drive this car for another 100 or 200k but I don't have to because this is a spare car. The wife tell me to give it up and throw in the towel. I find that hard to do when the body is straight, the paint still shine, the ac work, the interior is clean. This car is not a beater and has been maintained to a high standard.
Thanks

Well the mechanic called with the price of a new computer and I told him to replace it. Lets hope this fixed the problem and the car runs for many more miles and years.

Re: 1994 Honda Accord keeps dying
A new one from a online Honda dealer is $650.00 plus.
An aftermarket one from RockAuto is $350.00.
I paid my mechanic toward the upper end to replace it. He gave me a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.
Before the new computer the CEL away came on after a few feet to a block. The check engine light did not come on while driving home from the mechanic.
I like to look at it like I had to make a couple of car payments on my car. As long it runs for several month or a year I am always good with putting money in my old cars.
