Yea, I think It's definitely due for some plugs/wires. I wish mine was a 5-spd, I could definitely have some fun in that car if it was. It's fun to throw around with that stock high riding suspension lol.

Thanks, I check it every tank.

Yeah, I've tried stock air box, short ram, and cold air and the stock air box works the best

Another good tip for max mpg in your car is to check/clean/replace your o2 sensor often.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Yeah, that does help.

Thankfully my $400 wideband was replaced before I bought my VX.

I thought the same thing, until I blew the diff in mine... Those accord trannies don't take much abuse before they blow. Thankfully the tranny can be had in any junkyard for about $50.

Why do you have a wide band o2 sensor in your car?

Also, is the factory vx airbox different than other oem honda ones?

I wonder if I could put one of those oem vx front bumper air blocker things on my si...

All non-CA version VX civics came with a factory wideband to control the lean-burn. (Where a/f ratios get around 25:1.)

The VX and CX had tiny throttle bodies which used a small diameter OEM intake compared to the DX and Si motors.

A front bumper air blocker would help with getting the car up to temp faster, the only thing it might impede is your a/c. THough it would be worth it to mod one up just for the winter.

My buddy has issues with his VX, he took out the resonator (because hes a ricer) and now the intake gets flooded in puddles and the car obviously turns off.

Should he find another OEM resonator?

I would say yes, but that is a strange problem. I was running without my resonator, and had no trouble at all, but without it, the car sucks in a lot more cold air, which really seemed to hurt my MPG. The filter box and resonator are actually the same size for any of the 92-95 civic sohc motors so if he installs a resonator from any model civic back on there, he should be good again hopefully.

Snow is damn fun. Too bad the snow tires make sliding in it difficult.

With all-seasons it made snow driving more of a challenge, and the sliding happen so much.

Bump for being brought back!!! You might notice an increase, I'd imagine so due to less power taken from the engine, and a weight decrease. So I would say yes.

On another note, I got my mpg up to 27.58!!!!!!!!! I took your advice Dan and threw some NGK plugs (temp spec) and new NGK wires, as well as fixed my intake (used to have a filter shoved on the throttle body, now its a custom SRI ) and put some air in my tires. Im excited to see what the next tank is

That's pretty good for a DA I think.

I know in my 95 LS, that was about what I got around town. Nice work!

As long as you're not using the a/c, and givin the idler pulley for it isn't siezed up, the a/c really won't affect performance negatively. That is minus how heavy it is.

The power steering does take a few MPGs though. WHich is the reason the VX and HF civics don't have it.

Great picture!

The Fits are really starting to grow on me. I might take the plunge and buy one in a few years once I get really sick of the VX.

I love those HX wheels. I have two sets of VX ones right now, and would love to find some of those for cheap.

I think I'm gonna polish up the summer set I have, and maybe try to sell/trade for some.

Nice lip!
