hahaha i figure, Get all my hopes up and ****.

So hey, any good ideas on how low I could cut my stock springs and what shocks I could put on to counter those shitty springs? Looking for them to last like 3 months then Ill get a much better set up thatll get me DUMPED. I dont want to spend that much on the shocks im gonna use with the stock springs, just good enough to last time I buy springs but I plan on getting new shocks at the same time.

^I can't give an answer to that one. You might want to check out the suspension forum for help. They'll probably give you **** for cutting your springs though.

I wouldn't recommend cutting your springs. Not only will it ride like **** (yes, even with good shocks), but you'll be bouncing all over the place every time you go through a dip or something.

I'm sure you would be a lot happier with some lightly used springs that are meant for lowering your car instead of cut springs. Just trying to give some good info.

Yeah, well I dont plan on keeping it like that, its either I stay with my flood control teggy for like 3 months until I can drop enough cash on suspension or I make her look sweet until I can make her look REALLY sweet. Im gonna ask the guys in dumpedstars how many springs I cant cut, but Im sure theyll just tell me to get some konis.

Thanks for the info, I thought if i got some nice shocks that would off set the bouncyness.

most of them are slammed on coilovers, some don't even tell you their setup

but yeah I wouldn't recommend being low on stock anything, it literally makes you hate the ride quality of your car. I know first hand how much it sucks.

Ok. Is there any amount i could cut off the coils without losing that much ride quality?

And i get to pick my rims up tomorrow, I cant wait!

Incase anyone wants to know, dont contact JLB via emial. MUCH more helpful on the phone.

A's thats a nice shot dude. Let's see some more.

Epic,

Why dont you just heat your springs man? It aint the most civil way to drop your ride, but hey, your talking about ghetto cutting right? lol I rolled on heated stock springs/shocks for a good while before I got my Koni/GC's. They actually rode really soft and comfortable, but then I still had about a 1" gap all around the wheel wells. Cutting is a total waste of time man. If your planning to take off your springs, might as well wait and do a swap with a nice suspension setup. It took me a good 3.5hrs to swap out my suspension (no air tools).

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Since you already have the 98 headlights, why not just get the bumper and lenses and be set.

94-97 fronts are different from 98-01 fronts. The lips, bumpers, parking lights, and headlights are different from those to sets of years.

More pics will come. I edited a good many of them and then took some more shots tonight. I'll post them as soon as I get them all finished.

I would seriously just wait. Is it really that important that your car be lowered now as opposed to in 3 months? Not to mention how incredibly unsafe it is to use cut springs. 3 months isn't that long and it's not going to kill you to just have a small amount of patience.

94-97's are smaller and shaped different, whereas the 98-01's are larger and also shapped different.

Is anyone in the Bay area selling their 94-97 front bumper? I mostly just need it for the lower half since my lip is just scraping on everything.

I remember nelson99(?) said he was going JDM front and I asked him about his bumper, but he never got back to me.

But if anyone local to me has one let me know I have cash and I've been waiting to get this lower half bumper lip off for a while so my car doesn't look so bad anymore.

I definetly wouldn't cut the springs, if you "HAVE" to lower why not just throw some $30 dollar ebay springs or coilovers on it until you can get your real suspension..

cutting the springs sucks, and if you cut to much then your screwed anyways

Yeah the $30 ebay coilovers aren't too bad if you want to be low, my friend just bought them for the same reason. And he's pretty low on some 16" buddy clubs with 215/45 azenis.

You got the top hats too right? What spring rates did you get? I just put mine on recently and love them.
