i own the car for over a year now. its been to a few track/auto x days, but never took pic. finally i just took a camera a snap some bs pic for fun.

the car has:
stock b18b1
apexi N+ suspension
skunk2 front/rear camber kit
apexi gt spec exhaust
dc 4-1 header
asr brace with itr sway bar
some weird but light rims with azenis
veilside bucket seat (only in when tracking)
future plan: b16 tranny, buddy club seat, n will thing of thing else to do.

please dont hate on the pic, i just snap it, maybe i'll do a real shoot soon.

thanks everyone. and to answer the rims. it's not the sparco racing. on the rims it has a stamp "Colin". but i searched and never came up about the rims.

You would! I just love white on teal. No matter what rim it is. So counting down the days til my white pearl heliums. I dont understand some companies. A local shop can get konig rims with rubber and theyll price match jlb but also deliever it to my door, but they are located 5 minutes away, no point. But theyll only get rims ON THE KONIG WEBSITE. So why is it the 2 konig rims I like arent on the konig website but are on a handfull of distributers like JLB. Grrrr. Well konig didnt have the heliums (weird in my mind) but JLB says they have the pearls still in stock so looks like Im driving down to Corona... beats paying like 100 bucks shipping... 40 bucks in gas. LAME.


Question for you guys. I want to clean my engine bay today. I havent at all, and from the looks of it the previous ownered never did either. I read a thread a while back but cant find it archived. I read theirs a few areas I should cover before I start spraying it down. My plan was just water and some concentrated car grime remover. any help for a clean engine bay?

 

Use Simple Green, it does wonders! I used Simple Green for my bay, just to spruce it up a bit after my fixed my cam seal bust. I couldn't believe the results!

Also, I think all you have to cover is the intake and distributor.

 

yes simple green really does the stuff. make sure u cover ur distributor n the wires.

as for the rims. i could care less what color it is right now. im thinkin of pickin up a set of rpf-1 or konig network as track wheels.

 

Well I went out yesterday to buy wax and cleaning **** for my car. I didnt get simple green, I got a turtle wax product, its a degreaser so Im gonna use that on the engine bay. Ive read everywhere and from you guys to cover up electrical. I look at my bay and i see wires EVERYWHERE. So im taking this quote and going for it
"pretty much cover up everything electrical because water and electrcity don't like each other. and cover up your intake filter because your motor doesn't like that either.
when i worked as a detailer at toyota, all we did was cake on engine degreaser, simple green is by far the best thing you can get because you can get it anywhere. and then pressure wash it down with the car running and trying to avoid all electrical and intake."

I got this spray on wax yesterday and I wasnt a fan of it. The directions said I could spray it on my wet car and dry it off but I had to wash it again cause I either used too much wax or it just didnt state to wash it again on the back.

I've always just covered the battery, distributor, and alternator (thought I dont' think it's really necesary). All the other wires, unless exposed, will absolutely be just fine. I wouldnt' pressure wash it though.

 

^I got the Eagle One Wax-as-you-Dry, where you spray it onto your wet car (after you wash her). It apparently waxes your car. It says on the bottle to use one-two sprays for each panel. Doing too much will leave white streaks. I always wax my car after I wash it, so what I've come to do is use Turtle Wax Car Wash, then Eagle One Wax-as-you-Dry, then Turtle Wax Car Wax. Not sure if I helped you at all, but there you go.

As for the pressure washing, I can't say I've ever done it. I'm too worried that if I pressure wash the bay that something will go wrong (as in screwing something up).

 

Alight. well I was going to post a picture I just took, but those replies left me confident. I put way more then one spray per panel haha. So Im probably gonna go ahead and wash my car again today (I washed it yesterday, oh well) and try with the wax the right way cause I dont think i got it all off when I washed it again cause I found some white behind my turn signals.

Actually... Im going to post the pic to get a question I needed answered for a WHILE. But as you can see, I covered the battery and distributor, what about the area in yellow? i see lots of wires and plugs.

And my question that I had since I bought the car. The owner (younger then me) told me his dad installed something to make it faster, he said he didnt know what it was though. I figured he didnt know what he was talking about. I couldnt find anything, pacc never mentioned anything. Can you see anything in that pic? it should be all 100% stock.

Well I didnt take THAT much time on it. I could have used more but I didnt see a point in getting the areas I could reach PERFECT while having everything underneath gross. So it'll get cleaner when Im ready to do my swap. But for now I dont feel gross opening my hood.


I got all the visible grime. I used a combo of the auto degreaser and this heavy duty commercial calcium and grime remover for household things. Now time to wash and wax her outsides. 3pm, not THAT hot anymore.

I'm getting the teg/camera ready for a shoot later on (6PM right now). I washed and dried her about 2 hours ago, got distracted on here lol, then I just finished cleaning my lens and filters. I'm going to wax her in a bit and then get some shots in before dark. Then I've got my buddies Golf that I'm going to shoot later on. Will have pictures later.

 

Tight, youve had me on glass waiting to see these visors on a teal teg. I have plans to get some later down the line, after A LOT of other things. Ive not seen em on a teal teg yet, I cant wait!

I just finished cleaning the teg. I put some of the wax in the solution I had to clean my car with. I sprayed over the car as you said 2 sprays a panel, didnt get any streaking at all. So for a lil extra measure I got the damp towel and sprayed 2 sprays on a different part of the damp towel to clear off the car one last time, seems to have worked a lot more then yesterday, so thanks for the tips, they for sure helped. I just gotta wash the ins and outs of my windows and ill be done.

I also popped my window wipers off and sprayed painted them black so I gotta get those back on as well.

I cant decide on if I wanna put my window decal on or not. I support a clothing company To Die For, they have amazing work. They have a window banner thats HUGE in caligraphy ToDieFor. I had it on my altima in black when I first had that car. I got the acura and put another black banner on it. I took the black off a lil while ago and I have a white one sitting around. I cant decided if I wanna put it on or not, itll match the heliums when I get them, I might wait to then. Anyone think a white TODIEFOR window banner on the back, with white heliums... lil much or do you think itll flow?

 

Ok well I couldnt find ANYWHERE to take pics. This really nice s2k past me leaving my house. After about 10 minutes of driving and not finding anything good I stopped by this street by my friends house. The s2k drove past me again, I tried waving him down but he kept going, d!ck. Woulda added a nice touch to the pics but whatever. I just need a decent camera with another 8 megapixels.

Sun was starting to go down as you can see.


For some reason THOSE^ came really dark. I tried lighting them up a bit but it was pulling to much out of the contrast and gray splashing the whole pic so I let photoshop auto levl them, made them even darker but whatever.



Those ones turned out good, I like them.

Those are all normal lighting. I only played with one of them...


Im still not a huge fan of that wax, I got a lil streaking on my hood and I cant get it off grrrrrrrrrr. I used the armorall on the plastics of the car, turned out real nice, made them real dark. And whatever kid raves here on h-t about kids needing to use armorall, he's right, I cant tell in pics but looking at my car it does wonders.

And the wipers, I wish I took before and after pics, it looks so much better now. im happy.

About the banner, I wouldn't do it because I do not think you have enough done to ypir teg for it to flow properly. I mean I think you need more mods so the banner doesn't just draw your attention, but would flow perfectly with you exterior. Get what I'm saying?

So I took about 120ish pics tonight. Just got home, so I didn't edit any of them. I'm not sure when I will have them finished. I took singles of my car, my buddies car, and his buddies car. Then we took some pics together, throughout the night. I will post pics when they are edit. I'm so pumped on some of the shots because they are so good! Also, I'm going to take some more pics tomorrow evening. I'll be busy for the next couple days editing..

Oh I know. JLB called me today and they have the Mugen NR replicas in so im getting them in white 15in this monday. Once I have those ill be able to get some coils, but Ill probably chop like 2 or 3 coils off my stock springs and get some new shocks, nothing great but enough to keep my car from fcking up until I save like 800 for a nice set of coils. But dont worry, I plan on dumping her, I love low hondas.

I cant wait to get those rims, Im gonna polish the lips, they're gonna be SICK! Anyone know how easy it is to remove white paint and polish a lip but keep the spokes white? Ive had a rim like that on my phone background for months now i cant fcking wait!

And yeah I know what you mean about the banner, but I dont plan on doing that much more thats gonna stand out more then a white banner. Im getting a lip but itll be color matched. Im color matching everything. Possibly the 96 rear bumper and Im really liking the rear bumper fog. An R spoiler... hmmmmm, maybe Ill try and find some white recaros, that might look good with the banner and rims. Spoon or mugen breasks, not decided yet but leaning to the spoon. uh, thats about it with products that have something to do with the looks. So the white banner and white rims might be the only white... Im just worried people will think its rice, but I wouldnt consider it rice so whatever, once the white rims come, mmmmmmm.
