I'm pretty sure he means his tax return. I don't get to do anything fun. I have to install drains in my side yard and have cement poured...and remove a few trees to do all that. Will probably cost me about $4,000.
Home ownership is cool and all, but sometimes it just sucks.

What kills me is I'm so gay for home decor (you can quote me) that I remodeled my house this past summer. I could have built a nice honda challenge car for what I spent. Now I want new countertops and appliances, but I also want to cage my CRX. After paint, the cage would equal what I would spend on countertops and appliances...uggghhh. Being an adult sucks!
Haha, right on!

I have that same ****ing problem
it was like that even before I did my swap
and I have yet to figure it out
Good news
Found my scooby and I don't have to sell my civic. Selling the beater instead (4 door integra). Someone broke into it for the last freakin time two nights ago so I'm over it. Tried to steal the car but couldn't get it started. Why I don't know. So they just took my stereo and some tools on my passenger seat. They are dumb because its a japanese radio and FM stations don't come in also it won't play a CD all the way through because the sensor is dirty or some ****.
So I'm going to get rid of some crap in the garage, my last set of wheels, Mugen ehxuast, the beater and have enough money to get my Scoob.
Now to the EF portion of this discussion.
So I have been having issues get the hatch started since the transmission swap. It was initiated after moving the battery to the back so I got a used good starter and the problem went away. (some of you may remember this)
Swapped in my LS tranny maybe 4-5 months ago and started having starting issues. @ times it will take a couple of tries and waiting 5-10 minutes before it started. So I purchased a new starter. Right after I installed the new starter the thing still would not start the first crank. Was popping starting my car for a while. Car has been sitting for a month or two because of this issue. Two weeks ago I try to start my car...no luck. So I jump it and it start. So then I think its the battery cause the problem. Two days ago I try to jump it.
No luck
Try a known good battery...still no luck
disconnect the positive and jump the positive of the good battery to the cable and keep battery grounded...no luck.
No burnt fuses. Brand New starter. Two ground from the trunk to the battery. All lights come on with key in on position.
I don't want to waste money buying another new starter.
Do I need to extend the ground from the battery back up to the tranny like original placement? If so why is this so different between finding a good ground in the trunk
Where do I search from here.
Cliffs:
Car won't start anymore (w/out pop start)
jumped two weeks ago and started
jumped two days ago, no start
good battery, brand new starter still no start.
You need to make sure your ground is good. Especially with your battery so far away your asking all of it to send so many amps to the starter. Your lights will work fine because they don't draw as much juice. When I did mine along time ago I had to run a ground to the engine bay again, I might have been able to find a better ground, but I was getting frustrated. Usually people use the spare tire bolt down, but it didn't work for me. Just try to put it in the stock location to make sure its not something worse.
No, you do not need to extend the ground. It should be less than 2 feet long and at least 1 gauge IMO. When you turn the key, does the motor turn over? If so, you need to check the two things needed for combustion: fuel and spark. Make sure timing is still correct as well. If it's off by a tooth or two, it will keep it from running.

In reference to the quote, no, but you do NEED a good, solid ground from the transmission to frame. A thick gauge wire is required here and make sure the frame is nice and clean where you attach the ground to.
If this still does not solve your issue, you will most likely need to replace the electrical portion of your ignition switch (the backside of the part where your key goes into). One way to know for sure if its ignition switch related: Next time the car wont CRANK, put car in neutral, turn key to ON/II position, take a jumper wire and connect the positive battery to the little spade terminal on the starter. If you leave the car in gear while doing this test, you'll probably run yourself over!!
That doesnt make any sense dude. if it doesnt crank, the starter wont engage. Make sure the spade connector is on the starter solenoid good. Now, if you said it doesnt start, but you hear the starter do its thing, then that would have made some better sense.
No it will still engage.
Key in ignition turn ke. Starter plunger engages clutch or flywheel which ever one is it is to turn it so the engine cranks then it starts.
On my car only thing you can hear when trying to start it is the click sound of the plunger from the starter.
Thats why I'm wondering what the hell is going on because I have a brand new starter. And tried another known good starter and the same thing.
ok, that makes more sense. We need as much detail as possible in order to diagnose over the internet. This sounds like a power issue. There isn't enough juice to power your starter. Try this...Get a good size wire(the old ground wire should be okay)...touch it from the part of the starter that you bolt the battery + to, to the part of the solenoid where the spade connector goes on. you should also use a voltmeter to see how much power your battery has in it and is putting out at your starter.

so im doing what i can before all that happens and im in debt forever.
Reverse lights dont work, and fuses are good. Prob the reverse switch/sensor on the trans.
gonna mis her)
