ok first, lost is black, if you seriously took offense to me requesting a pic of you dragging knee in an EF, you my friend need a cold beverage of choice. i would say "beer" or "malt liquor" but that might get blown out of proportion jsut like my knee dragging request did. chill out, its a joke.
think "dave chapelle"
anyways moving right along,
so i jstu got in. i spend the evening sandblasting the engine bay of my car. taking it down to bare metal. im cutting thru it like butter. i grind off some of the grounding tabs from the mounts. i grind off those little stud screw things from the firewall. i sandblast a little of the glue down from the joints, but not all of it, jsut a little of the "excess"
i stand back, and man...its looking good. and i think to myself "why dont i jsut clear coat this bare metal engine bay as it sits?"
so out comes the wire wheel on the drill. now im going to town. **** is getting real real shiny. this is before the clear coat.
so make fun of me all you want but im sporting a baremetal, wire wheel polished, clear coated, wiretucked, firewall shaved engine bay.
:birdfinger:
and if when you refer to "metric", if youre talking about that beautiful butternut, cream in my coffee, nutmeg in my eggnog, french vanilla cappucino, white chocolate mocha CRX, yea, thats his.

arent you gonna rust like a **** even with the clear coat? i think chad was making a joke partly about the hip hop community and the whole hyphy movement with the whole dragging knee while driving thing seeing as people are ghost riding their cars, getting dumb, etc.
metric's crx is beautiful. clean usdm and a very unique, awesome color.

I am well aware of the available offsets for the rpf1 wheel. After doing some more searching around and discussing with others, they must the +41's on that particular creme CRX since he is running a 205 tire. I still would like to know for sure though.

nah, he got mad i said "black kid", then insinuated i wanted him to "perform" like some kind of circius sideshow. just unnessicarily offended. but, hey, sorry none-the-less.

it really doesnt look too bad. its barely a white line. i could take it down a little more and throw some tack welds in there.
its so funny how these ****** projects take funny turns midway thru when youre jstu bored. thinking of ****. i was sandblasting flaky old primer off of the bay so the new primer would stick and jsut decided it looked cool. hahaha.
ill lay it down thick so it seals and wont rust. should protect it jsut as well as paint.
althought i think i will spray the top of the radiator support and the t-bar black.

My friend is trying to get me to buy this EF with a B16 with OG hasport mounts, and some other junk for $2500, but the side moldings are no longer there, the holes for them have been molded over, but the line of where they start is still there.

I don't think he is serious.
Chad - Take the propane torch to that seam sealer for a few seconds then hit it with the wire wheel. It comes off quite a bit easier that way, but it sounds like you may already be done. We just got done removing every bit of that crap from the bay and from the interior. I think they used way more of that crap on EF's than any other chassis after it.

I had those 5Zigens on my '00 Civic back in '01-'02. I sold them for more than what I paid for them new.

My knuckles are scared for life from scraping seam sealer. I didnt wire wheel it cuz thats way too messy. I found the perfect tool to just scrape it all off. It slipped sometimes tho sending me into a car punch.

I couldn't really tell, however, I actually do like that idea. I think it would be pretty sweet looking, especially if the car was silver

It's not practical though. There wouldn't be any rust protection.

I hooked up the wire wheel to the die grinder on the air compressor. It is super easy that way, but a little dangerous, due to flying shrapnel.
I feel like Chad posting a picture of my leg on the internet.

Could it be clear coated? I'm not at all interested in doing this myself, I just got interested in the idea of it.

I suppose you could clear coat it, given the metal is course enough to form a mechanical bond, but that alone won't prevent the rust. You would need some sort of sealer. The sealer is often an ingredient in the primer. Primer itself does not prevent rust.
