You don't even have to talk to the ricers here... I was at a cruise once and when this one guy got out he shut his door to hard and his neon underglows started flashing.
This other time I was standing there and this other guy wanted to race this guy in a mazda mx-6 and he was asking him:
Him: what you got done to the engine?
Guy: nothing.
Him: What kinda engines does it have?
Guy: I dunno.
Him: have you ever opened the hood?
Guy: no.
So once he got the guy to open his hood he says
Him: I think thats the same engine that came in the older ford tarus...
Guy: no its a mazda engine...
Him: uhhh I work on cars for a living so its not like I know what I'm talking about...
Then the guy turns on the little lites on his valve stems and drives off.

thats weird.. i remember when my old 88 si fuel pump went out. the si fuel pump was different from all other models at kragens.

A beatnick crx shows up, i mean damn near got wires holdin his hood shut and some trailer trash in the passenger seat.
(good gosh i think, here it goes)

It belongs to a friend of mine, so it's not in my posession yet. If I get it, I'll most likely be getting a different manifold to convert to an external wastegate.

nothing wrong with a greddy mani. if youre under 400whp on boost you can use a ******* fence post for a manifold as long as it doesnt crack.

Yup. It's pretty hard to crack a cast mani. Only reason I'd change the manifold is to convert this 18g to an external WG.

dont worry about replacing the thermostat because it could very well be something else and thenyou'll go wasting money. Only you plan on replacing everything in regards to temp regulation then do that but if you want a quick fix to get rid of the over heating rig your can up so it stay on at all times. I had this same issue about a week ago.
Ground the fan to the chassi and wire the power to the black/yellow wire from your distributor

Both fan wires (should be blue and black if i can remember correctly) should have 12v. The fan turns on when one of those is grounded. Depending on which one you ground determines which way the fan rotates. So even if your wires are switched the fan would still operate.
First i say check the fan switch on the back of the block and make sure the 2 wires are plugged in. If they are, then go ahead and disconnect them and tie them together....the fan should turn on. If it doesnt, check the fan relay. If u dont know how to check it, find someone with a EF who has a working fan and use theirs just for testing. </TD></TR></TABLE>

silly guy your car is overheating cuz your fan is not cutting on

dont worry about replacing the thermostat because it could very well be something else and thenyou'll go wasting money. Only you plan on replacing everything in regards to temp regulation then do that but if you want a quick fix to get rid of the over heating rig your can up so it stay on at all times. I had this same issue about a week ago.
