i just got the ownder of iceman to agree to replicating the mugen EF rear sway bar with his mandrel bender. the only one that bolts up to the stock positions. he said he is going to cryo-treat them too. dunno if that is needed. might be able to make them smaller if that is done though.

andy, your tranny, the one i rebuilt, is a y1 lsd from an si-r. if you need an intermediate shaft there is an extra one in my garage to sweeten the deal for any buyer.

specs are
1: 3.166
2: 2.052
3: 1.416
4: 1.103
5: 0.870
r: 3.000

new 5th gear synchro. newer (from parts trans) 3rd gear synchro and forks. all cleaned and professionally reassembled. no backyard bullshit.

i have a y1 with a quaife in it and it is like a greased jellybean</TD></TR></TABLE>

some right, alot wrong. this is from what i ahve first hand experienced.

lets start with s1 and ys1. both are integra trannys. ys1 being 92-93 so it has a cable actuation but a hydrostyle internal case (you can put a type-r gearset into a ys1 case with no issues). essentially identical otherwise. jdm ys1 has optional lsd. jdm versions have different gearing thaan us versions exlcluding the gsr ys1. i belive the jdm s1 was available with lsd but i have not first hand seen one.

y1 is an si-r trans and si-r only. it had optional lsd. there were also the a1, j1 as well available on the si-r. i have yet to encounter one of those with an oem lsd. the a1 and j1 made appearances in the xsi as well as the si-r.

as far as the guy with the clicking from the lsd it may be a condition of preload in the diff. ther eare beveled washers inside the quaife atb's that must be stacked a certain way to maintain preload. if one of those washers is stacked wrong you may get some noise or if one broke you will definitely get some noise. if one broke you are relatively safe due to the cartridge design of the quaife in that it will hold the washer in the center until disassembled.

you can open that box, take out the insides, and block off the holes. then put the box back in to keep your heat. or you can get the replacement part from a non a/c car. you can get the a/c delete stuff from honda and i believe healtoe sells it too.

what size is the real mugen rear sway?

thanks to kyle for setting it straight. for some reasaon i always forget about the tranny codes. i'm just trying to feel out a sale on this item. at one point kyle was interested in buying it. my preferance would be to keep the cable, but i feel the hydro is going to meet my needs.

...$120 for the wiring for the entire car.... from a CRX SI (something I've seen maybe once in a junkyard in my 4 years of being into hondas) doesn't seem like a bad deal to me... since its almost impossible to find.

Disco Monkey, thanks man I heard something about that also, prolly get that done today.

Four days ago it was 80*, then yesterday we got about 8" of snow.

I guess that's why the National Weather Center is located here. (OK)

My brother ended up in a ditch in his 4wd Tundra so I had to take the 86hp FWD out to get him. I'll get some pics in a little while.

I just picked up a 91 sedan for a daily.. will any of the hatch front bumpers/headlights directly bolt on? Don't want to do any full conversions or anything since I don't want to put a lot of money into this. But the hatch front end looks so much better.. so if it's easy, I might as well mess around with it

see that 70s era accord right there? i think the next big trend is going to be "vintage" civics and cvccs. all it is going to take is one HT meet and one photoshoot with a notable honda-tech member in a super clean 78-79 civic slammed on low offset equips and the rush will be on to buy your vintage bucket.

oh and....VIP is about to hit so hold on to your hats.

hell i would rock a clean white starlet in a heartbeat. only question would be finding a 13b to put in it.
