Holy smokes, I never new there were so many colors!!
Holy smokes, I never new there were so many colors!!
Here's an abridged build up post...
Day one...

You only wish you had seat covers like these...

16 years of dirt...

Getting the tear down started...

Won't be needing this...

Poo-poo brown has got to go...

...so does the tar... (thanks to Justin for all the help)

(thanks to Justin for all the help)

More tear down...

I made that Surge lamp in 5th grade science class...

My best friend...

Monster Garage style...

I haven't taken a lot of pics lately, but the interior is completely stripped of all tar, wiring, panels, brake lines, fuel lines, etc. I'm going to run a cell and -an fittings throughout. Prop valve is relocated. The interior harness is out, it'll be going on a diet. All unnessecary wiring will be deleted (i.e. radio, speakers, heater, a/c, etc.). Others have yielded a 20lb loss (EF8Kid and JDMDan in particular). I might have Chase do it, since I hate wiring and don't have a great knowledge of it. All the seam sealer has been removed with a wire wheel, you gotta watch out with 20k rpms...

This in a couple weeks the engine bay will be welded up and the chassis is getting a thorough stitch weld. Weight has been saved in almost every way possible. Hopefully I can have it below a ton with me in it. Right now I don't need car dollies, as we can slide the front and rear end of the car from one side of the garage to ther other with minimal effort. It won't be a DD so all the amenities have been discarded.
I just unwrapped my SiR rear bumper a few minutes ago. I picked it up for $120 WITH a lower lip. Password can suck it if they want $400 for one with a lip. My back bumper just happens to come off the same car as my front end did...

I can't wait to put this on...

Right now Composites Fab has my cluster. He's working on a production bezel for a variety of body styles. I got a nice, black CRX dash last week for $50. 1) because I like the look better than the Civic and 2) because the cluster will fit in the CRX bezel much better since it has the same overall shape...

I'd like to source all the parts I need by the end of the year (i.e. roll cage/bar, moldings, EF9 sideskirts, etc.) and hopefully have it welded up and prepped for paint when it warms up a bit early next year.
The End...

Hopefully I didn't reveal too much.
P.S. Just for xDEFTONESx most of the "faglight talk" and aesthetics were skipped. By no means is it all be aesthetics for me.

Most people buy a flat sheep of carbon fiber to fill in the space around the cluster. I was talking to him about getting one and we decided it would be cool if he could make a production piece for other cars as well since he had been getting quite a few requests for filler pieces. I can't wait to see what he comes up with.
*edit* Some of those pics were with flash and it tends to make the car look a different color.
It's all original paint.

Have you given any thought to Silverstone Metallic from the S2K? It's a tad darker. If it were me, I'd consider Satin Silver Metallic from the DC5 also. Just ideas...

it is already silver and i dont want to do a "full dip". the only place where i want to get creative is the engine bay. its bare. i have even considered turning a couple graffiti kids loose on it with gloss paint.
i like the EF silver. you dont see too many of them around. the only one that ever comes to mind is that kid's that was on the c over of the mag a year ago. the donor car is a 90, so ill have the correct tails and trim as well.
there is also a red shell out here for sale dirt cheap. its by mastershakes house. its red. if i swing by and get that, im goign to build a full crxwolf replica clone down to the valvecover color and when i move back to FL im g oing to follow him everywhere he goes. people will think there is a "glitch in the matrix"

You mentioned a tuck. Just wires or are you going crazy with the brake lines/shave and everything else?

I was looking for a pic of Satin Silver and realized it was only the 02-04 RSX's that were Satin and '05+ is Alabaster. This is somewhat related...

Thanks. It's a long term project. Paint and body will be done by spring, then motor by summer, then I'll move on to wheels/brakes/susp. I've got nothing but time...

what are you guys doing with heater hoses? getting rid of those?
i need 88 door panels. NOW. please someone come thru with some 88 door panels.

I won't have a core. If it's cold out I'll have a big coat on and I'm usually rocking a beanie anyway. The DD has heat, thats good enough for me. Keeping the hoses may be to your advantage if you want to run your main harness underneath it for hiding purposes. I'm just going to run mine under the rear mount.

no i mean...the heater hose that comes out of the head. theres a metal fitting. how do you guys run that? my core is shot anyway.
edit: ef8kid/chase, is that a wig or does your real hair look like a fake afro wig from spencers gifts? oh and, if you have luekemia and youre undergoing chemo-therapy and it is a wig from spencers gifts i apoligize in advance.
