Wait...WHAT? What are you guys talking about? All that rotational weight? Please explain. The rotors are hardly heavier than stock, the dogbones weigh maybe 8oz. each and the calipers are extremely light.

Oh, and my dyno number before and after my switch to the 11" rotors and wilwoods did not change. Please don't spread misinformation. Additionally, cross drilled rotors are a horrible idea. They heat up, they crack, and thus cause problems.

I run the wilwoods with the 11" corrado rotors. Hawk HPS on street, Blue's on track. I also run r*compounds on track. Big brakes + sticky r*compounds = incredible braking force without locking them up. It basically sucks my eyeballs out of their sockets when I brake.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

A Wilwood kit on a DC5 is an 11whp loss over stock. King Motorsports had a project car on Speed TV a few years ago. They tested the effects of the big brake kit and larger wheels. It's not misinformation.

The same is true for axles. Big, bad ones have an adverse effect on performance from a HP stand point.

That's crazy! But I guess it's true. I'd like to find out the weight differences. And was that combined with the bigger wheel? Anyways, I guess it's a moot point for us to keep arguing without a true test on an ef. Power train hp loss through added rotational mass ftl.

If it's over your head we can go back to talking about valve covers and taillights.

I think i saw that show on the RSX. They ended up doing a few engine mods to make up for the power loss.

I think they even pointed out that if your large rotors are lighter than stock, you still lose some amount of power due to the increased diameter.

Im sure the info from that show can be found somewhere on the web. Im gonna try and find it.

edit: Found it. http://www.nsxprime.com/forums....html and https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=815308

That was just brakes. For 99% of people the added weight wouldn't make much difference. The improved braking wouldn't make much difference for those same people, either, haha. The big brake kits might be beneficial for those that track the car often, but I can vouch for slotted rotors and pads making a world of difference over stock.

I tell anyone looking to get into tracking their car the same thing. Simply throw in some decent pads and flush some ATE Super Blue in. Then you're golden until you get faster

There are so many variables from what you use the car for to how much braking will actually be done that there is no right or wrong. Depending on the weight of the big brake kit and other variables the bigger brakes could be beneficial or not beneficial.

One of my friends a few years ago had a big brake kit on his S2k that had lightweight forged aluminum calipers and wayyyy lighter rotors than stock. The front and rear afttermarket brakes combined weight was less than just the OEM front brake setup. The car stopped like crazy and gained power from the combination of the lighter brakes and wheels. (Matt do you remember Rob with the white S2k on volks?) He paid a grip for this setup, he was single and an officer in the Navy, so money was not limited.

To stay on the topic of appearance, here are the wheels and tires I just bought for my daily. I just need to get up to Oregon to pick them up. Can anyone tell me what these are? I'll steal a Rywire or Chasebay sticker and mail it to you if you're correct

paint your mouldings.

Dang lots of tech talk because of me haha. Im either getting that kit because its 100% bolt on or doing the nsx calipers with ex hubs, and redrilled prelude rotors.
