The Official EF Discussion Thread
This guy I know told me the other day that there are some EF9 seats in a local junk yard... I'm not sure what its called or where it is... I've been there once looking for some tail lights but they wanted way to much so I've been thinking if its worth the bother of looking into it. Its not a pick and pull place so I'd have to go in there and say "yeah I'd like the EF9 seats out of that crx overthere.." and of course the reply would be "garsh I like nascar heheh!"

do they know their chassis codes when speaking JDM?
do they know their chassis codes when speaking JDM?
Well this guy that was telling me would have known because it was his crx. I might have heard him wrong but I think he said EF9. He wrecked it into a pole or something a while back and mentioned it was still in a junkyard the last time I saw him.

I dont want to start a huge battle over healthcare, but....
a. Many americans that lack healthcare are eligible for healthcare assistance (sometimes 100%) and just do not know where to get it. There are millions that never take advantage of government programs.
b. If america was to utilize a universal healthcare system it would put many small/struggling/starting buisnesses in the ******* without any possiblity to ever get financially ahead. The taxes would be outrageous. Small/innovative business is the american innovation that allows us to be one of the greatest coutries in the world (many would argue the greatest)

Have you ever worked at a grocery store? I was a manager at one for 3 years. There's nothing like sacking 2 cart fulls of groceries (including prime rib, steak, etc.) around the first of the month for someone on food stamps, then helping them take it out to their brand new car, all while they talk on their cell phone.
Then there's people like me, with a family, low to middle income, who can't qualify for ANY gov't assistance because I actually have a job and attempt to take care of myself. I wonder what I could afford if I didn't have to pay for food/groceries.
The rich get tax breaks, the poor (and/or lazy) get hand outs, and the hard working middle class get screwed.

I'm surviving just fine, I always will, but the system is bad, very bad.
*sigh* Anyway, we should move on, this topic is depressing.

That reminds me, I forgot to tell you guys about my DD Accord's demise.
So I had my mechanic do some work on it. It needed a new rad hose, water pump, a/c charge, and I had him adjust the rear drums because the pedal was almost hitting the floor. I could have done all this, but I really don't enjoy wrenching on the DD when it comes to maintenance.
Anyway, on the way home, I noticed some resistance (brakes), but didn't think much of it. I stopped to fill up, and when I tried to leave, the brake pedal was rock solid and the car would only do 3-4mph with it floored. This was around 11pm in a not-so-great part of town and I had my 17month old daughter with me. (This ultimately led to the decision to get a new DD.)
So I call up the father-in-law and have him come out to assist me in getting it, and the kid, back home. I jump in his car and he drives mine down a couple back roads at 3-5 mph. Well about half way there I notice the classic brake pad smell, so I figure the guy screwed something up when he tightened the drums. We get to the edge of my neighborhood and I notice sparks coming from the front right side. I'm thinking "That can't be good." So I pull along side it and the front pass side rotor is GLOWING bright orange/red. So then I'm like "Aww sweet, it like a race car, lol." Haha, we wind through the neighborhood, me following the trail of sparks/smoke. We get to my street and the rotor catches on FIRE!!! I'm talking some INTENSE 8-10 inch flames coming directly sideways from the wheel, in a perfect circle.
Right about then the fire toasted the brake line and Jeff lost all braking power, so he whipped a U-ey at the end of the street and came back up the hill to get it stopped. I yell at him to get out of the car, it's on fire, then we ran inside and grabbed some buckets of water to put the blaze out. Luckily, it didn't damage the new cv boot/axle I just put in there.
I guess it all worked out, though. I ended up with another EF.
Now I just need to source a caliper and brake line so I can put her up for sale.

Maybe the fact that it says "OBO" in bold and red lettering threw him off.
