The OFFICIAL DC Squad --Version 3--
Maintenance Required light came on.
Jumped the plug to check the CEL and its the Intake Air Temp sensor.
I installed my k&n intake around a month before the car started throwing a CEL.
I cleared the CEL for now. What exactly is happening when an intake makes the ecu throw a CEL? Too much air?

i'm assuming your car is obd1, and for my car atleast, that means the IAT is located on the intake manifold. nothing to do with the intake. sensors don't last forever, try taking it out and cleaning it to see if that works before replacing it
in other news dropping my lip off for paint tomorrow and am currently fabricating the mounts for it
That last comment wasn't sarcastic or anything, don't worry dude.
I figure the CEL is because the aftermarket intake instead of coincidence that a sensor failed right after the install. I hope it is just the sensor.
Already took my iat and map out and cleaned them up but they weren't very dirty in the first place. CEL isn't coming back.
It would come back on right away if the problem was still there correct?

Your right, logic dictates that if it was a bad sensor the ECU would throw a CEL again immediately but I know some sensors require a while to be seen again for a CEL indication after the ECU has been reset. If you don't have a CEL right now, there is nothing you can really do and you will be fine. One thing that all the technical schools in the Navy have taught me is that if the fault indication is not there, it is nearly impossible to troubleshoot!
Got my rear strut bar and subframe brace installed along with my 5000k hids... I have to admit I'm not too fond of the hids from Operatic.
First, just too bright. I don't like the brilliant white look. Prefer the looks of halogens myself but want the output of hids.
Second, now I assume this is the quality of the product itself, but the lights tend to flicker very very slightly. Cant tell when the car is moving but I noticed right away and it's buggin me.
Anyways... made a list of what I'm looking at:
rear sway
front strut bar
high beam hids
fog lights/hids
lcas
header
paint touch up
new weather stripping
intake manifold
In that order too. Little performance, little cosmetic. Then I'll be happy enough to save up a bunch for wheels or maybe go forced induction.

^^ X2 - Simply gorgeous.
Jon, make sure the HID connections are all tight on the ballast & that bulb is on nice & tight.

Need some advice regarding rear LCA's.
I am on stockers right now, & have a shot at picking up some F&F LCA's... But I'm being told to keep the stocks & stay away from aftermarket because they are simply for bling, & the sway bar endlinks don't match up to the LCA's, & the bushings are crap cause they are not meant for daily or track use... ??
any opinions or info on this? or, is anyone currently using F&F lca's?
Thanks.

I believe the best LCA's are the Function 7. I track my car and all the guys there use oem LCA's, including myself. There are other things more worth getting, but if you were to get some, I'd say get the Function 7. I too have met guys that have used aftermarket ones, such as skunk2 and blox, and both had horrible bushings. I'm using stock LCA's with a 22mm rear sway bar.
Thanks. Any pictures of your old integra?
Recaros are lookin good hella ill! I'm going to need to find me some black/grey recaros, maybe the confetti recaros I see every once and a while.

I miss Nelson's integra. Wonder what it looks like now..
Operatic/3b specialists don't carry 4300 hids anymore due to buyers finding out they are much more rice then they first thought and constantly exchanging the 4300 for 5000 or 6000. Too bad I wanted the stock look they didn't like.
Ordered the 5000k instead, 55 shipped is pretty good so I wont complain too much.
Now looking around to stiffen my suspension.
To those that track their integra.. I'm reading I want to stiffin up the rear or the front of the suspension/chassis to reduce under steer?

One of the factors I was considering with the F&F was the weight factor. I was thinking that the aluminium construction would be better because of the lightweight feature...
My plan is to upgrade my LS sway bar with a ITR sway & get a subframe brace. But now I'm not too sure about the aftermarket LCA's.
DC4PB. I'd go with FF myself. I have their coilovers and if they speak for function form quality then the lcas will be awesome. Check out lcas with polyurethane bushings.
The comments about lcas just being bling is half correct. Good LCAs can shave off a 4th or more of their weight and still be stronger. Some LCAs have camber correction. Other than that.. it's bling.
The wiring seems to be lose with my stock harness. Everything else seems to be fine but the light will turn off if I touch the stock harness the wrong way.
Work today. When I get off I'll pop the trunk and get a shot of the chassis bracing.
EDIT: I saw some ASR braces matched with LCAs for not too much on jhpusa.
If you upgrade your sway bar upgrade to a brace. You dont need LCAs but if you drop another $100 you get that additional bling, minimal weight reduction and the feeling of new car parts. I myself decided to hold off on lcas until I get a few more things as you can see from my list.

I'm running Function 7 LCA's and I love them! I brought back some Zeal Function coilovers back with me from Japan and needed ITR rear LCA's so instead of putting money towards stock ones, I went with the Function 7's. My bushings have been great and if you are really concerned with it, you could shell out the extra money for the spherical bushing versions of the Function 7. I would never put any other brand on though over stock and I wouldn't spend the money on new ones if they weren't absolutely needed.

So far all votes go for Stocks or F7's.
But besides the point about the bushings, I'm still wondering if they can be used with the Stock LS or ITR sway bar. It seems that it doesnt match up to the F&F lca's.
Here's a pic I found with F7 lca's using Cusco Sway bar... Notice the sway bar endlinks are totally different.
