The OFFICIAL DC Squad --Version 2--
iv done lil research ls good on turbo but i dont like speeding over 100mph and **** b16 tho shorter gear ratios with a quick spooling turbo= alot of fun on the street not so much on the freeway
a motor is either built solid or blows, obviously there are variables but it wont make a dif in the end, it'll last or fail.
All motors are not created equally. Some builders prefer to do things different ways. I.E. some will use different bearings/ring/methods of doing thing, different ways of assembling a head.
While 1 builder might remove casting marks etc in the head when he assembles it some might not.
Some will use higher quality parts that either perform beter or are just simply better quality. It all makes a difference.
I would NEVER just get some random guy to build a motor for me and think she'll be right because every monkey can do the exact same job and get the exact same job
Actually i would NEVER pay andbody to build a motor for me, much easier/safer/more fun to do it my self
Theres a reason why people from all around the world send there Nissan GTR Skylines ALL the way across the world to be built by RIPS in Rotorua here in New Zealand.
Sure any dipshit can build a fast RB26 but i can gaurantee (sp) that nobody in the world can do it better
That goes for any make and model of motor too. Theres always 1 or 2 people/workshops that just do it better
/rant
once again were all just stating what motor we perfer and why im jst saying i rather have a gsr over a ls-v not hating on either motor or set up **** my favorite ones are single cams

again re-read what was said...
"who put together the lsv made it beat a gsr..." different parts and procedures are going to make a motor dif, not who does it.
+ assembling a motor and porting a head are not the same thing, I agree if one builder were to casually port the head of course its going to make more power that wasnt the debate.

I agree but its not solely the build or assembly that will effect horsepower.
if extra steps are taken, different parts are used then its an entirely different build and that wasnt the discussion, it was a bone stock ls, stock vtec head, vs a gsr.
