yeah, im not much into posting build threads either, but its not a build thread if you post a few shots up in our squad thread.

man, im cutting it close though & only have 3 weeks left of school to finish painting. Unfortunately cause of the short amount of time, i dont think ill be able to paint my car inside and out like i had originally planned. so hopefully ill atleast be able to just shoot the exterior in time for now.

Nothing much....sold my mugen strut tower bars.... they will be missed... but just bought a rare BENEN DUCKBILL!

 

damn, mugen strut bars, thatd be nice. i just ordered a knockoff mugen valve cover for the gsr in the hatch

On your behalf I went and attended my first event this past Sunday . I arrived late in the first heat and was registered under the ST class. I took my first lap in 78.8 seconds, noticed my competitor had his around 65 so I stepped my **** up to 68. After I gathered my thoughts and came up with a course of action I got it down to 64.184 (if I am not mistaken), then dude busted a 61 on me. He was crazy nice too. I told me I did well for my first time, especially since I didn't have sway bars. So yeah... It was fun, even though it was like 30 degrees outside with 35mph wind. "Working" the track was not fun in that weather.

Sorry for the rambling. I now begin the hunt for sway bars and some better struts.

nice work. it is addicting. and working period normally isnt fun. wait until the dead of summer. last year middle of august on blacktop. rode with a buddy in the first session. worked the second. by the third session it was my turn to drive and i just wanted to get in a pool.

 

Yeah...I started back in 2006 and have been hooked ever since.

I also hung the snow tires on the garage wall tonight in favor of installing the summer kicks. On top of that...I re-installed the rear sway bar setup. Feels good to have the 'ol snowball back in the garage.

gabe you are killing my eyes from trying to read those tires..are those r888s? i squinted for 5 seconds and said damn my eyes hurt.

Yes...they're Toyo R888's. They came with the wheels. I'll probably roast them off at the first event or two. They most-likely won't get hot enough to be fast on the solo course anyway. I'm gonna get some Kumho V710's when these are done.

$250 for a total of seven wheels with four used tires. Because they were previously used as track wheels, two of them were bent so I actually have five good ones. I got the long end of the stick.

 

Im pissed with myself since I came up on a deal for koni struts/ground control coilovers a few hrs late. Dude sold them BNIB for $750.

Nope. A local SCCA club racer. He competes in Spec Miata.

 

im guess off the shelf yellows. rates would depend on buyer but im guessing around 500f and 400r.

 

so wait..youre in sm so you are "racing" spec miata with your civic? lol.
