NO ******* WAY!!! Just got to work from the state ref, and have some calls to return but had to post. So for those who didn't know, my attempts at BARing my h22 have been going horribly. In particular, my NOX has been killing me. Last time I failed the 15 mph NOX by like 300 PPM (and nothing else).

Realized I had a faulty egr that wouldnt open properly. Fixed that and headed to the state ref, equipped with an obd2 cat

Here are my results:

15 mph test
MAX MEAS
%C02: 14.7
%02: .3
HC: 121 126 &lt;-- FAIL
CO(%): .76 .14
NO: 807 266

25 mph test
MAX MEAS
%C02: 14.8
%02: 0.1
HC: 96 20
CO(%): .65 .07
NO: 746 35

Yup, failed cuz of 5 PPM on my HC!!
Timing was at 15 BTDC. Great news thought that I fixed my NOX problem.

Ref said if I retarded it to 13, I'd probably pass. Any thoughts?

damn soooo close....im not too sure about retarding your **** 13...but if thats all it takes...do it and then when your done put it back....

have you cleaned the head at all? i know before i bar the gsr im going to get my vavle sleas replaced and clean the head at the same time.

 

it's been seafoamed. but no other cleaning besides that

 

i would never use the sea foam again. i know they took the heads off and cleaned the **** out of them.

 

**** i mean if he said the timing will fix it then try that and put it back right after your done.

 

but from what i've read, HC = unburnt fuel. so to lower, i wanna advance timing, no?

 

i have no idea. all i know is i cant wait to do the same thing.
