you don't need 91 for a B18A/B unless your motor starts pinging/detonating like jcarothers said his truck was doing.

Its recommended for a reason, a b16 has a high compression ratio, hence the reason why it makes 100hp per liter, 87 burns too fast and will cause the motor to detonate quick

Yeah I run 91 octane, the dealership even recommended it, well for the '99-00 Si's that is.
