<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by DjGuamstyles &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I always reccomend doing retrofits in a headlight that already has a projector, you dont wanna get into retroing a projector into a non projector housing, lots of fabricating, and brackets, and jb weld, and no guarantee of even left and right beams. One may be flat, the other may be angled. Then it just looks dumb. Use a light with projectors, it may look stupid, but its the only way to make sure you mounted everything up straight. And I do have beam pics of the JDM headlamps with HIDs, they are shooting at the garage door. OF course it has glare up close at the garage door, but its not as bad as you think! Its got the same beam pattern as the stock Halogen lights have! ONLY projectors will give the cutoff you want, and beam pattern you want, but they will just give you that ricer headlight appearance that you dont want, but thats the sacrifice for perfect HIDs!!! And putting projectors behind a fluted lens isn't thaaat bad, its not as good as cleared lenses, but the beam will be softer, and so will the cutoff. Plus the fluted lenses actually direct light into different directions. Notice how the JDM lamps and USDM lamps "lenses" are mirror opposites of each other? LHD and RHD, so they were designed for that. They dont do a great job of it, but thats why they made fluted lenses like that. Before they found out they could direct light by making cutoff shields and better designed housings.</TD></TR></TABLE>

thanks for the info man. pretty much summed up everything i wanted to know. now im just going to have to decide if i want better lighting in the jdm headlight with your retro or get that perfect hid cut off. Thanks again though for your info it helps alot

Yup, I had both setups for a long time. Do the JDM one first, then later on if you do a retrofit, all you gotta do is swap headlights, cause the HIDs will already be in place, oh and the bulbs too, cause projectors are D2S, not D2R.

Tired. I'm here at work, almost time to leave (2pm), and I only had like 1 1/2 hrs. of sleep last nite. I was out at Larchmont on Melrose, for our homies clothing company release party. http://www.myspace.com/eksbtn. The good thing is today is all OT pay, so worth it IMO! Just been a little slow all day, and I still wanna go hit up Autobacs after work, to look for a wide angle rearview mirror for my STi. I thought I remember seeing a taller mirror there, cause the STi has a compass on the OEM mirror, and it don't allow the fitment of a Broadway. Call me crazy for not wanting the auto dimming mirror, but I hate the stock tunnel vision mirror, I need my wide angle view!

Yeah somewhere in Cerritos I guess just like last time. Perfect spot, near a lot of markets, gas stations so we'll have it there.

Yeah we probably will...

-EDIT-

Okay I know the date is kinda sudden but seeing how we have location down let's throw out some dates/days. The 15th-16th of this month is a weekend as well as the 22nd-23rd. So let's get a poll as to which date/day is best for everyone cause any day during the weekend is best for me.
