Offical eH squad list.

Thanks for the reply Gabe.
I was contemplating removing the entire adjustable spring seat itself, but you bring up the issue of the Ground Control spring just sitting on the shock itself...
How about using a Dremel on the actual perch itself to shorten it? That way the spring will still seat on the flat adjustable perch.
Still sound bad?
Car is used to get from point A to point B. Nothing more, nothing less.

Im still on for going in July. I think im going to buy my ticket in Janurary or Feb. Were deff kicking it man. Drink some Pacifico's west coast style lol I gotta buy some dickies and cortez so i look like a local lol
what makes me wonder, is why they took the couch cushions after before blast off. i mean, you care that much to take the cushions off? heck, i would have just chucked it and been done with it.
also, how about them lions?! what in the crap, i guess having the first pick 13 years in a row works out after awhile.
as much as i dislike jay cutler, he has zero chance of success in his current situation. he scrambles more than mike vick, and not by design. that o line cannot block and also can't stay onside. when i went to bed they had 7 offsides penalties, but the last one i saw was a garbage call. the d end for detroit was over the line of scrimmage when the bears lineman jumped. to interpretation of the rule is that the penalty should have been on the lions.
the colts are looking super good this year, end of story.
avijit, where are you at on this?!!???

last, but not least. i little rant i have, so maybe i should stay off forums for a bit or atleast a select few. i don't know why some of this junk bothers me, yet it does. it really, mostly, has to do with what i have seen in claudio's "build thread" as of late.
over the weekend i saw something in here that made me think there was some "drama" in that thread. so, i went and checked it out. i found the whole ordeal silly, but i didn't reply because a. i was on my phone and b. i am over the whole forum drama that means squat. this will be a jump around response, so bare with me.
as most of you know, i find "build threads" for the most part pointless. not to pick on claudio, but his "build thread" is the basis of why i do not like them. not his specifically, but his fits the bill almost to a t. do i check out build threads, yes, gabe's and evan's from shg, and claudio's whenever the "drama" errupts, ie. blazed and this past weekend.
blazed had many valid points in his "arguement", but i felt as if he was "throwing his weight around". he had proven his point several times and yet "kept beating the dead dog". he pm'd me and i expressed my point of view. he saw my point and yet still stated his. ok, whatever, everyone has their own opinion which i did agree with his. but, at the same time he was all over claudio which got a bit "old" and that was my main point to him. one thing he brought up and i find to be a very good point is, claudio says something in his thread and "everyone" pays attention. why, heck, i have no clue, but because build thread.
heck, i found some of jeff's(cranberry) comments "out of line". so, guess what, i text him and told him. he said what he said and it was all in the past, no big deal. so, now jeff says something in claudio's thread about the amount of rust, yet some think he is "hating". ummm, no, he is stating there is a lot of rust, plain and simple.
and to me, it is funny how some of the "group" stuff works. hasback, plusone, am7, ffsquad, shg, etc, if someone from a "group" says something the "whole world" follows. i find this annoying, ie in hbk's thread someone says something like "i wouldn't have paid attention to this thread when it was hbk, but since it was shg, i checked it out." hahaha. same car regardless bro, the group doesn't make the car, the owner does.
ok, heads up claudio, here it comes. his build thread to me doesn't seem like a build thread, but more like a maintenance thread. yet, it has over 130,000+ views and 1,200+ replies, so that means there is a lot of traffic. and this statement works for that "perception is reality", meaning stuff the "noobs" read, they find to be true(blazed's point). i have seen statements elsewhere, ie eg hatch thread, but a lot of people believe anything claudio says. do i, no, obviously i question him alot, not to be a dick, but to help him. i have been in his shoes, i read a lot and thought i knew it all. yet, that was hardly the case.
to the build thread in general, all of the stuff seems basic and simple to me. once again, not trying to make fun, but using it as an example. when he put his n1 axle back on, he took a few pictures of his stock exhaust before removal. ok, i know i have seen several stock exhaust/mufflers on many civics let alone my own. what is the point? ok, you are taking it off, but that is what you have to do to put something on. axle back is a few bolts and some hangers, simple. it looks good, let's see the "final" result and that is it. i don't really follow his thread, like i said, but i bet there was before and after **** pictures as well.
there are many instances i could use. once again, i'm not trying to pick on him, but he is a perfect example of "certain things" in forums that bug me. "perception is reality", so maybe i am coming off as a d*ck. i will accept that and move forward. i will use 2 instances that have bothered me, and yet would have went by as the truth if not corrected. all of the "butt dyno" results that have been thrown around, from a new "faster" shift or the "added power" from an axleback. then the one and only "i will duck, if the car rolls. i play forza so,....", i don't need to go any farther on that one.
maybe i am being a bitter old man because half of this new age forum stuff really gets to me. maybe it was ready tony fuchs interview in honda tuning. who knows, i don't, i just know a lot of this stuff you find on forums get to me. maybe that is why gabe doesn't come around as much anymore, who knows besides him. i just know when i "built" my car, i didn't have time to take pictures and document everything going on. sometimes i wish i did because i/you would have seen all of the hard work that went into it. but, i had a life to live with a family and at the time i was working 6 days a week, so sunday started early and ended late. it took me and 2 other buddies in, i think, 6 sundays to take my hatch from "nothing" to "something".
quick run down:
-car went from motor in with "bad" trans with the interior fully stripped. avijit could tell you about the condition of the car. i think he told me one day "dude, i'm sorry, but i don't see it happening."
-motor pulled, trans rebuilt.
-removed most of the wiring that wasn't needed, as well as the hvac, srs, and radio. i left the hvac wiring, but not the radio.
-tucked most of the wiring, even in the tailgate etc.
-rear disc swap and put on a front gsr set up. all new calipers, rotors, pads, stainless lines, and front end got new ball joints.
-suspension, wheels, tires.
-painted the bay.
-new clutch and flywheel.
-shifter, seat, and rails.
-crx si passenger seat onto "eg" base.
-master cylinder and prop valve.
-vc shaved and painted.
-full custom bunny club spec2 exhaust.
-the most fun of all, replacing the right rear brake line. from prop valve back.
i am probably forgetting a few things, but that is all i can think of off the top of my head. since then i have done a few other things as well. i would find that a fitting build thread, yet i don't have the time to do so. besides the time, i just think it is "normal" for a honda "enthusiast" to go through the same "struggles" and triumphs i have. i have a buddy who had a 582hp turbo hatch in 2002, that was around when i got into cars. i remember i thought robbie was the coolest thing on the block. fast forward to now, avijit drops 619 on the dyno and everyone was following his steps along the way. obviously i am super pumped for him, even though she done blowed up. but, point being, people have been laying this footwork for awhile now. funny thing is, a lot of the guys who laid the footwork aren't found on forums. wonder why? in tony fuchs' interview he says "i have been doing this for almost 30 years, and i know my cars. i get kids who call me on the phone saying "i heard this on the internet," trying to correct me."

I didn't get offended or anything at all. Maybe out of line depending on who reads it by the way he wrote it but I know how he types and understood him fine. Its just a misunderstanding because others don't know that Jeff is a homie so it looked like he meant "damn you got mad rust" but he really meant "damn its crazy how quick rust builds up over there, im not used to seeing that since Im from CA"

That is true but those groups have a certain cred so their statements have more credibility than the regular person. Its not necessarily "what i say goes" but you have to make up your own mind on what that person's credibility.
ok, heads up claudio, here it comes. his build thread to me doesn't seem like a build thread, but more like a maintenance thread. yet, it has over 130,000+ views and 1,200+ replies, so that means there is a lot of traffic. and this statement works for that "perception is reality", meaning stuff the "noobs" read, they find to be true(blazed's point). i have seen statements elsewhere, ie eg hatch thread, but a lot of people believe anything claudio says. do i, no, obviously i question him alot, not to be a dick, but to help him. i have been in his shoes, i read a lot and thought i knew it all. yet, that was hardly the case.
Now don't take anything I say to be to be towards you or anything, Im just clearing it up. Just a discussion were having before anyone comes in and say I'm "hating" or "we have beef" with you or anything of that sort.
Let the figures speak for themselves, if my thread has so many views and subscribers then the content is obviously relevant. If you look at the builds that are popular, they are typically organized and well documented but mostly just have a lot of effort put in regardless of the current stage of the car. It might seem like a maintenance thread but it is my daily driver and it gets driven everyday for the most part and the budget was low for a while but now is starting to pick back up so some projects will get underway. Just give it time, it will leave the maintenance stage.
One of my main objectives with it is to show newbies what it takes to build a car. I do it to help them head in the proper direction, just my way of giving back to the community "because Ive been there". In other words I like to show as much detail as needed to fully show what goes into it and not just the car transform in a matter of a few pictures.
Someone might come into my thread and be like oh I wish I knew as much as you did or had that attention to detail; well I got to this point using very basic means and so anyone can do it, just follow the steps and put in the time to learn. I started out from scratch.
A lot of people take my advice because they like my POV and take on things. Not everyone will have the same outlook (ie I would rather do better pads for feel than tires if I never went above 65 but seeing as thats not the case, I went with better tires than pads.) You help me in some ways but you have to remember that I am not inexperienced as I may seem just because I get down to a beginner level documentation. I am always learning too and because what we say is on text, it can seem like its a given- which its not. Like you guys tried to argue that you will stop faster with better tires than brakes and I never said that it was the other way around yet you guys assumed so because you didn't understand why my decision was in favor of pads for that given situation. Thats why I am always explaning things because I don't want it to be misunderstood and then all of a sudden I look like I am "side stepping" (ie volks copied other wheels. Thats not to say they are knockoffs, that is to say that they took concepts, ideas, inspiration from other wheels. Yet everyone took it as volks are replicas so all the ballers are rocking "fake" wheels so you can see how that got out of control fast. They put in the R&D to create their wheels but the design of having spokes on a cylindrical barrel is not something they created.)
to the build thread in general, all of the stuff seems basic and simple to me. once again, not trying to make fun, but using it as an example. when he put his n1 axle back on, he took a few pictures of his stock exhaust before removal. ok, i know i have seen several stock exhaust/mufflers on many civics let alone my own. what is the point? ok, you are taking it off, but that is what you have to do to put something on. axle back is a few bolts and some hangers, simple. it looks good, let's see the "final" result and that is it. i don't really follow his thread, like i said, but i bet there was before and after **** pictures as well.
The point is to document it so I can look back or if I need to check something I can instead of relying on memory. Plus its progression and people like to see a car come together much like a parent would enjoy seeing his kid grow up you feel me?
there are many instances i could use. once again, i'm not trying to pick on him, but he is a perfect example of "certain things" in forums that bug me.
Not coming off as a dick, I like that you're speaking your mind, more people should do the same instead of holding back anything. The buttdyno is what it is, some peoples are better than others. I am always aware of that and focus to really be able to know what improved. It is not bogus. Im not saying the exhaust picked up 20hp, I'm saying it feels a lot better and takes a lot less throttle to get moving a certain amount compared to before. I am good with that but I dont expect anyone to take it for granted, those are my impressions. The shifter doesn't shift faster, pretty sure I didnt say that, it feels better having the vibrations be transmitted more to my hands so I can tell what its doing better. It suits me better much like a driver would prefer a suede wheel vs leather, its up to them to decide which they can drive better with- its not to say ones better than the other. "Feel is in the body of the beholder"
Sure I probably wouldnt be able to duck on a rollover (still going to rock my bucket, call me stupid lol) but then you could always be like, yeahh nah you wouldnt dude, i know what you mean but thats not what actually happens. Then alright, I learned something and its not how I thought it was. (I do still believe that in such an event I wont be able to at least move a bit)

ok, heads up claudio, here it comes. his build thread to me doesn't seem like a build thread, but more like a maintenance thread. yet, it has over 130,000+ views and 1,200+ replies, so that means there is a lot of traffic. and this statement works for that "perception is reality", meaning stuff the "noobs" read, they find to be true(blazed's point). i have seen statements elsewhere, ie eg hatch thread, but a lot of people believe anything claudio says. do i, no, obviously i question him alot, not to be a dick, but to help him. i have been in his shoes, i read a lot and thought i knew it all. yet, that was hardly the case.
(I do still believe that in such an event I wont be able to at least move a bit)
maybe i am being a bitter old man because half of this new age forum stuff really gets to me. maybe it was ready tony fuchs interview in honda tuning. who knows, i don't, i just know a lot of this stuff you find on forums get to me. maybe that is why gabe doesn't come around as much anymore, who knows besides him. i just know when i "built" my car, i didn't have time to take pictures and document everything going on. sometimes i wish i did because i/you would have seen all of the hard work that went into it. but, i had a life to live with a family and at the time i was working 6 days a week, so sunday started early and ended late. it took me and 2 other buddies in, i think, 6 sundays to take my hatch from "nothing" to "something".
quick run down:

Brad to touch your point about that, is you were a big boy about it and instead of putting it out there you took it up woth me personally. Im grown and can handle someone else's opinions and you were right i was being a dick. But because i said i would be going crazy over the rust means i wa hating on the car? Or i had an opinion on the sound of the single cam thru the n1 cause i had a gsr and single cam vtec go throw thr one i owned? It's like you said about gabe i dont know why he stays away, but i know why I did so much after i sold my si. This site is not the place it once was. Its all about who can one up the next guy or own thw must real deal parts. Last i checked if i can see it, hold it, touch it, its real. I only stayed on h-t cause i gad met alot of rad *** people thru the eh squad. Some i have met and still are close with am others im cool with and have yet to meet.
