It get's stupid humid here in the summer...but I never even used it in my old coupe when I had it. The only time I use A/C is in the Bauman family truckster, (Honda Odyssey) and that is when my wife is in the car...if I'm alone it's windows down hair flappin' in the wind blastin' Whitesnake.
Mussels yeah right, I meant the breaker bar was going to snap, no lie, you could hear the noise starting to creak up as if it was about to give way. Ive been looking at impact wrenches.
What you guys think about this impact wrench? Just need something thats not expensive and thats already pretty up there and slightly over budget.

As for A/C, yeah I dont need it either but somedays in the summer I wish I had it. Summer is quick anyways so its not too bad. I'll have it when my hatch is built. Someone just asked if it was for sale lol. I hate that ****, people are so blatant, I mean this guy was nice I suppose, but its still odd when someone stops across the street and calls you over to ask. You never know if they're eyeing your **** but he didn't look to be.
My sister needed a ride and she was like, does your car have A/C? I told her "No, but it will be cool" haha. Get it?

Haha...Oh...all good dude.
I'm trying to read reviews and Im seeing lots of weak power reviews. Guess that won't do it.
I'm not even having a hardtime with the axle nuts, I haven't gotten to those lol. I cant even break the damn lug nuts off. Whatever shop tightened them put them on at like 200ftlbs
What about 3/4 to 1/2 adapter? The 30mm axle socket I bought is 1/2. Would that be bad to use? Thanks Gabe.

**** man, if Ima have to jump on the damn thing 10 times just to get off the nuts I'll **** bricks. Its only a harbor freight 24'', I really dont trust it like that and have a feeling it will break but maybe not. Regardless what about the axle nut? Gonna break my back over this lol.
On that note, how do you guys get it on all 4s? I always find it confusing to do it safely. Do you get the fronts on stands by jacking somewhere in the middle and then the rear and then jack it high up to gain height or do you jack it up as high as the fronts will go and then do the rears as high as possible?
I think I'll just get a strong corded impact and just use that to remove the bolts, don't need to put them back using that I suppose. Isnt that right? The problem with the corded ones is that they all seem to be on or off type deal, no variable speed. Not trying to torque my lug nuts to 250ft lbs lmfao. I mean I do have my torque wrench here good for the other spec'd stuff.

Yeah, I got the jacks and stands all ready to go but I'm trying to take the lug nuts off first and the axle nut before I raise it off the ground.

I never use the impact to put the lug nuts back on the car. Just hand-tighten them and then torque them down to 80ft/lbs with your torque wrench. I usually re-torque the lug nuts after about 20-30 miles of driving, (they usually don't seat totally after the first round of torqueage.
Slide a pipe over the breaker bar to get leverage.
I jack the front of the car up using the radiator support. There is a small 3" tab that hangs down lower than the rest of the support and is just a bit off center to the driver side. Place jack-stands under both front jacking support tabs. Jack the rear of the car up using the rear tow hook and place the jack-stands under both rear jacking support tabs, (how do you bleed your brakes without knowing this)?

Yeah I was just making sure I was jacking it right, good stuff.
I also torque my wheels by hand to a guestimated 80ft lbs. Once you've taken enough wheels torqued at that, you get a real good feeling as to how much force 80ft lbs is so its never really off by much I bet. Now I have a torque wrench so its no prob even if its not the most acurate.
Stop by, it cant be much farther than some 20 hrs rofl. "Be right over"
Pretty balsy to name a tool "breaker", I would be a real shame if it did just that, break itself. lol. You would think that something with that name would break things and not get broken itself, that would be embarrassing lol. I think this thing will but thats just me and that store is a good 45min away.
Yeah I tried it. It fits! Thats good to know for future use, very neat tip Gabe, thanks for that.
On another note, you can tell its about to break without even putting that much force on it. For me that bar should only be used as like, an upgrade in length from a regular 4-way lug nut tool. It will make taking off lug nuts a lot easier by not having to bend down as much and by using less force so its not like the tool is useless, not at all.
However applying 200ft-lbs of pressure to it is asking too much. I paid $12.99 for that thing lmao. You pay for what you get and I sure as hell don't think I paid enough for 200ft lbs rofl!
I'll just get a corded impact wrench. Looking at reviews left and right but this one looks good so far, still gotta read all the reviews.
Right now the tally with everything is around $435 spent. With the impact and dot 4 brake fluid, new lug nuts and flywheel resurface I think I will be at $675ish. I was looking it up and people are getting quoted for 700-1000 for a clutch job on the beetle so overall I think its still a good deal. I mean I get to keep all the tools, impact wrench, torque wrench, breaker bar, low profile jack, sockets, gloves, thread lock and whatever else so I think it works out. Its hard to say how much I'll save from doing it myself but from saving 0 to 300 sounds pretty good. Even if it breaks even. Paying a shop to do it is okay but by doing it myself I'll be able to keep these very handy tools is already worth it. I'm the one working for it technically anyways and have the time to do it so I'm up for it. Not to mention I get some good experience.
