I agree, that's why it's safer to wait for a tow truck than change a tire (statisically speaking). The only reason why I'd bring a spare is if I was driving across country or somewhere over an hour.

speaking of waiting. one of my friends broke down on the side of the road. he left it there for a couple of hours. he came back, come to find out someone slammed into the back of he's car. he had a EK. it got smashed all the way in to the back of the front seat. the guy that hit him was in the ICU.

it's alright. i haven't washed my car in over a month. mostly cuz i haven't really driven it since my tags expired (trying to BAR it right before my registration was due was stupid....didn't remember i needed smog though). only good thing is it's been in the garage the whole time.

What are the purposes of the front and rear bumper support?

to lessen the impact of the front and rear....but eh..its dead weight. Thats kind of like whats the purpose of a stock hood over a cf hood. Stock hoods are made to buckle during impact, while do cf hoods reallydo? kinda dont think so. depends on the eye of the beholder, do you need it? or is it dead weight. Kinda goes the same with the spare tires, rear seats, passenger seat, a/c, power steering, etc...

Well of course not, but really do you feel safe changing a tire on the side of the freeway having cars fly by you at 65+ and also the car is only held up by a stock siccor jack. And remember, most big trucks are in the lanes farthers from the center, and they make biiig gushes of wind when they blow by.

How soon is right then. Obviously the guy hit his car and was taken to the hospital (which takes a while) before he came back. It's safe to say, the car would have been hit while he was changing the tire.
