After talking to my "General Manager" at work. That car was a joint venture with dealerships and Mugen/Kingmotorsports back in 87. Honda wanted the Mugen brand to take off as a dealer installed option but it didnt work out. my GM says "it was a lack of interest by the public at the time."
That particular car was equipped with a Mugen body kit, spoiler, diff rear louvres, wheels, and graphics. All from King and dealer installed and bought, right off the showroom floor. Till this day an elderly lady drives it.

Well, considering King Motorsports was actually King Honda on 27th Street in Milwaukee, WI at around that time, the accuracy of your information is slightly flawed...

Mugen did make more than one kit for that CR-X also... The more recognizable one is the widebody, however Mugen being Mugen also made a much more streetable aero kit which I believe to be pictured above...

You forget I am born and raised in Wisconsin and spend a lot of time at King.

Plus my del Sol side step kit came in the original box shipped to King Honda in 1993.

Yah, I know they were 20th. Thats what 3 Stella Artois and 4 Bass's do to you on this fine saturday.

Im suprised I didnt start calling them 5zigens or something. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Yes there is an MR5 final version, I have a set of them. As I stated above, they are forged, have a stepped lip, 15" only and all of the rivets/bolts have an "f" on them

As far as I am aware mugen only made 1 version of a kit for first gen CRXs (the pro kit) , but they did however have two versions of the pro-2 (2nd gen) CRX kit. Here is a pic of the US honda mugen part offerings for the 1st gen CRX and 3rd Gen civic
