Well, we all already know that USDM ITR's all do not have the hole in them. If it wasn't on the 97, then it wasn't on the 98, 00, and 01.
By this weekend we should know for sure, what is what on JDM ITR's.
I just want to put this out there though. The reason I am looking for the hole in my car, is to help back my statement up. I am not doing this to put anyone down or to say that any one persons car is a POS. The car that was originally in question, is hands down a BADASS car! I can only hope to have mine somewhat close to being as nice as it one day.
So if anyone is offended by me finding out the way that it really is, I'm sorry, I'm just in for the truth of the intake hole.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
I'm aware of the filled hole, that everyone questions. Thanks for the positive reply, and I hope you didn't take my post as a defense as well.
We have questioned the same thing, long before anyone has pointed this out. I'm sure thats how this whole thing got around. We just could never figure out why some have the hole, and some don't. Thats how we came to our conclusion of it possibly being only the earlier production models. Seeing the rear subframe, bare floorboards, rear brace mounts in original un-touched condition--makes me not questions its background.
Not to mention, the countless rhd and usdm ITR's that Edick and I have owned over the years. He definitely wouldn't have attempted a full blown ground-up resto, and re-create something its wasn't from the beginning

the top fuel RWD del sol turbo is one of my favorite inspirational cars of all time
so the stickers caught my attention right away
true that
couldn't tell from the pics
you had such a ballin motor set up
so i'm glad you told me
boost + JUN parts =
i'd expect JUN parts would be on a NA build, not turbo
but i guess it must be a good combo with good results if you're doing it
making good power?
how high compression pistons you running with how many psi boost?
and what type of cams??
not using the JUN lightweight flywheel are you??

According to Honda even the 1995.8 (very first production run of the ITR) do not have the hole...

That is taken directly from honda's "fact book" site on their main site in japan specifically in reference to the early year ITR. Here's the referencing link (check the date in the page title "INTEGRA TYPE R 1995.8" http://www.honda.co.jp/factboo...6.gif
Again I'm not saying there is no way the car is a real ITR, I have no idea. Only thing I can say is that the inner driver's side fender is not from an ITR. Whether it was wrecked and replaced in japan I have no idea, but no ITR USDM/JDM/EDM or Australian market ever had that hole.
One thing's for sure though, Edick's car is expletiveing amazing regardless of what it is. I definitely love it

Maybe that is the case, cause if you look at that section of his engine bay. You can tell that the car was previously hit in that section.
However, this still doesn't clear up the 2 ITR clips that had the hole with the Bigger 96-97 Abs Unit.

I think this thread needs to shut the **** up already about all the gay "this is a type R" and "that car is a hype R" bs.
You wanna talk about R authenticity, go to the R forum.
Keep it Mugen fellas, lets see more

You did fine. You kept it Mugen specific with your pic.
I'm half tempted to start a new thread in the appropriate forum. This is interesting.

And yes, a 50 year old lady bought it, but I think her son drives it..at least that is what I heard. Didn't make me to happy, but oh well, her lose if he destroys it. Mike
