u dont have to loosen the bolt in the center. its simply for show/design. i take a cloth/rag to cover the end of a metal bar and wack it carefully frm behind.
i'd do it in the grass because at times u might hit it too hard and the cap goes flying on the pavement scratching our/your precious mugen mf cap.
good luck.

cover the top of the bat with a rag or sock. pick up the wheel and position it so that the bat is right under the cap. sometimes the weight of the wheel just pushes the cap out and sometimes i need to apply a little pressure on top of the wheel. voila no wacking and no damage to the cap

wow, good info/tips on MF caps, I had no idea and was wondering the best way myself as well
so you can't really change them w/o taking the wheels off huh? since they need pressure from behind
My volk caps were the same way...pressure/squeeze fit and popped in and out.
I remember when I had a stripped stud and needed to get the cap off to get to the hub nut, I used a towel and a oil filter wrench on it...worked pretty well but thats cause it was a cylinder shape...it would be useless on an MF cap since its conical shapped
