scary!!

I've stripped a hub going down Broad in Seattle(steep hill towards the water) and that scared the crap out of me- had to flinstone stop with my brand new Shimano MTB shoes...I'd be more scared to rip a strap!

Went to my friends skate shop:

Bought some parts. A good friend gave me the bars. Thanks ESOW!

Met up with an old dude that was local selling NOS parts. Stuff for my next build and paid way too much for these:

doh...3/32". Build the next bike as a 3/32" or have the dude trade me this chain ring for 2 Araya Red rims. Decisions, decisions

Well I went to a bike swap this morning, finally found a bike my size and something I liked after looking for a long time. Looked it over, measured it, talked to the guy for a bit (though he sounded stright) ended up buying it for $100, got home and started looking it over more closely and find out it's bent!!! F###!! I don't know how I missed it at the swap before I forked over the money but I'm sure the guy in long gone by now or will play stupid if I could find him. Bad lighting, excitment of finding it, you know the feeling. Well what do you guys think, safe to ride or not? The bend is mainly on the underside of the top tube a few inches in front of the Falcon sticker. I think it probably hit a car or something but the thing that is boggeling me is the lower tube is stright but only the top tube is bent?? How? It is a steel frame so I think it may be still safe to ride but like I said what do you think? Also I'm pretty sure the geometry will be a bit off, think it will make a big difference it turning? Thanks

can anyone recommend me a frame that is flat black, $300 and under, and the frame is not too thin either. a perfect example is here:

something like that, kinda looks like a gan well pro frame but anything rather than bianchi and less expensive.

has anyone ridden one of those frames? Any pictures of them built up? I'm looking for another frame to build a fairly cheap commuter/lockup bike. The price on these is great, but I'm just wondering about the quality.

I've seen one around town. as far as quality I would guess it isnt the best. Its your standard taiwanese frame, cheap.

it looks ok... not my style, but its what he asked for

the brazing looks like crap on those bikes honestly. i personally wouldn't buy one, but there are those who swear by them. and leader uses similar bikes for their racing team, so it isn't like a super cheapo track frame that was made only to sell at lbs =P

heres one complete

and btw, you can spraypaint your bike flatblack easily.

here's the leader thread from bike forums
