yea locally at night there aren't many lights (only in city environments you'll have nice light to ride)
and here it gets way too cold at night
i'll bring back some pixors today

yeah i live in a city, which is where I stay when Im riding at night. but Richmond is small and you end up doing laps, thats why it gets boring. that and the fact that my friends are lazy and dont want to ride

just got done with a nice 5 mile ride on my fixie
but before i got back i tried a couple more skid stops and had a pretty good fall and a good lesson how not to do a skid stop. but im still learning
i have yet to have more then .5 seconds standing still for a track stand
none of the methods work for me
hopefully we will have a few more of these nice days in the winter time so i have more time to practice

yeah i think its a stupid example anyways. plenty of people die everyday doing normal things or totally crazy dangerous activities or they can live their whole lifes unscathed
that story was kinda unfortunate, but like jessie said.. know what your doing or run a brake, i havent had my fixie that long and i ride about 20 mins a day on the trainer and i still have a front brake, for me its a piece of mind.. plus im a girl and run 78GI.. so its hard for me to skid.
you're going to die whether you have brakes or not if a box truck hits you. i had an armored truck buzzing me the other day on the way to work the entire way... he was going to my work!! i had to keep slowing down so he'd pass, then i'd catch him at the light, repeat. i didn't want to get flattened by the son of a bitch.
anyway, resolved to ride everyday this year if i can help it, been keeping a flickr log to enforce it. doing well so far, even though it's rained 5 out of the 7 days this year!
