I thought you were posting the pic because it was a cool bike but with the saddle 20mm behind the bottom bracket, you might have a tough time getting anywhere without ****ing up your knees.

But cool dude, sick bike! Do a barrel roll!

I'm curious how you liked the FSA Carbon Track cranks.

Blue frameset is sold and im not sure where the comp is from but I know they do alot of road stuff too.

SkyeC- go waste away somewhere else.

nerdsports- fsa cranks are the second best thing ive ever upgraded to with wheels being the first.

To anyone with any concerns of this bike before you have stupid comments or questions, the parts where just mounted up and was ridden around the block once to form one complete bike in case someone locally want to test any of the parts without having to install them on theirs.

How was the chain line? I've read about Ellipses giving chain line issues. (Currently have Ellipses).

I'm between Sugino 75 and FSA Carbon Track. Heard nothing but great stuff about the 75s but everyone recommends the matching BB which will definitely up the price tag of my build. And it seems like it's a higher maintenance piece too.

I'll go with that when I build something worthy of those components. For now, I'm going with inexpensive (higher end of inexpensive, I suppose).

yup understandable. the noise, ping, didn't make me "not" ride the bike, but it was more of an inconvenience with the noise. i personally loved the sug75 setup.

a friend of mine just got miche primato (in black) . maybe look into those

Ive had no chain line issues with my wheels or cranks. Cranks dont flex and are solid as fack. I have the matching bb too for sale with mine so buy them!

I have been contemplating building myself a fixed gear bike for awhile now. Nothing extravagant or really fancy just finding myself a cheap old road gear bike frame. So that is what I did, got a free Giant model Quasar this past weekend and stripped it down.

My dilemma on ordering parts is the frame measure out to be a 19" frame and I am kind of tall around 6'1" or 6'2". for those of you who have been into this for longer than me will I be able to adjust the bike so that it will fit me fine? Im not trying to get all professional about this thing obviously. I just want something to beat around town on and ride to class and what not.

Also, before I forget I was looking into Velocity Deep V wheelset, Origin 8 crank set, maybe Origin 8 rear hub.

Ill post pics up later of the beginning of my project.

Did some more measuring and research and Im pretty sure that this frame will not work for me........FUDGE!!!!

My build is going to take a little longer now... just realized the crown on the fork I bought doesn't match the head tube. =\ It'll work but won't look right. Besides that, the CARBON fork I bought felt almost as heavy as the frame! Carbon fork with steel steerer... smart move.

Just a note to the noobs like myself... I rode 8 miles with what I thought was a good saddle height for proper leg extension. Boy was I wrong. I raised my saddle another inch and what a difference!! I was riding along at 20-22 mph with little effort.

Carry on! and happy friday fellas!

Hmmm saddle height makes alot of difference huh. So when you're pedaling your legs should be straight not bent?

Not fully straight just slightly a hair bent.

If your hips are moving up and down it's too high.

saddle fore/aft also has a big effect on your spin and how your knees will react once you start putting big miles in. anything under 30 miles or so and you can have a really cocked-up bike and not notice. once you get closer to 50, 75, 100+ miles, you will be in serious pain if everything isn't right.

a lot of clowns get really upset when someone tells them their saddle is at some retarded angle or their handlebars are pointed at the ground... but there's a reason.

I don't know, how is YOUR saddle angle? It's all rider preference. Have you tried other variations to see which feels best for you?

Great looking bike.
