if you are pedaling backwards...the rear tire is doing the same.
The term "backpedaling" refers to applying force opposite the direction of the cranks movement to slow the pedals down. That and skidding is the only way to stop

That would make the rear wheel spin backwards.
Crank fixed to chainring
Chainring fixed to cog (via your chain)
Cog fixed to hub
You pedal forward, wheel spins forward
You pedal backward, wheel spins backward
You stop pedaling, wheel stops spinning

noob help
can someone explain what and how a flip flop hub works?
from my understanding it can be fixed (no coasting) and then single speed (w coasting)? is this right and how do you make the change, do you change the sprocket or something.
yes i am a noob

one side is threaded for a cog, the other is threaded for a freewheel. just flip the wheel around if you want to change it.

ive been pulled over for merging into the left lane. and when the cop asked what i was doing i told him i was turning left duh ! wierd situation
but i jus cleaned and lubed my chain and damn i forgot how quite my drivetrain was considering my chain line being off cause of my sugino rd cranks.
