Nope, it's not ridiculous. You're missing the point. He's raffling off his car. You're spending $100 to get a chance to win the car for .... $100. If you don't win, you have a sticker. It's gambling...you take a shot or your don't. Normally you just get a losing ticket to toss in the garbage. Now you have a sticker.
Great song, great vid!

No I'm not missing anything I know how business works if the guy would have sold the tickets for say 10 only 800 people would have to buy the sticker and the car would be paid for (he said he has 8k in the car) then the rest is profit plus he gets his name out there. With fb, honda-tech, civic-eg, word of mouth and local forums he could have easily found 800 people with an extra 10 bucks in their wallet. Now he has to find 80 with 100 that they are willing to drop on it.
My grand prize would be giving away my car w/ extras
2 nd place would be coilovers or a set of tires
3rd place a suspension component ex. brace, sway bar, strut bar
all runners up get a free t & $50 off any auto service ( covered in the link )
.... I AM NOT MOTIVATED BY ANY MEANS OF GREED. THIS IS SOLELY FOR NOTORIETY & GETTING RID OF MY LINGERING PROJECT. Not to brag, but I have 5 cars, the rhd eg being one of them, and the only 2dr vehicle. Just don't need it any longer.
The price was to deflect and improve the quality of buyer, not quantity of buyers. So forgive me for the high decal price. At the same time it was to improve odds.
in lure of all that a giveaway is more than the right way to give someone the opportunity to own a car at $100. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, and I knew it wouldn't have a mas appeal, I never counted on it. It's just the way to level the playing field and get more exposure about the giveaway. Either way it's out there. If the raffle doesn't progress then hey, I'll be in the same position as I was before. man w/ a paperweight car for 1of 3 kids to inherit.
Thanks
Joel
I would buy a ticket but dont have a garage atm and dont need 2 hatch backs in storage lol
Good idea though, I would be stoked to get a plain old bare shell for $100

Here is some pics of my project that I am in the process of doing a full restore on. This was my first car bought it on 12/15/99 and will never get rid of it. wil probably do a build thread when I get more updates.

The left one has the car centered better and has better color and brightness.
Some pics from tonight. The lens on my camera is effed and I was having a really hard time getting it to focus, so out of 25 pics, this is what I got....
