I'd just put painters tape on the front half of the car and the a-pillars, front part of the roof and the mirrors.

 

Im about to rent a truck and trailer........do you guys think I should get a tow dolly or a trailer? its like $250 for a dolly and $500 for a trailer.....trailer would be better but I guess $250 goes along way towards gas when you are driving 3,000 miles bleh! this sucks haha

Never mind my wife says the car is not allowed to go on a dolly lol

 

I used a dolly to get my car to mn from ca. Not bad I guess. Easier to tow, not so much weight on the rear end of the truck. Maybe easier on gas? Tell her its just a civic

Edit: and No, body is being prepped for paint. just trying to decide on the color for sure. Down to 2 colors.

 

I need new paint on my valve cover. But I don't have a spicket to wash all the paint remover off. I would need to get it sandblasted or something, but that's not always the greatest on aluminum parts. I would like gloss black.

 

you dont need one... take ur valve cover to the car wash, spray the stripper at the wash, let it sit, then pressure wash it....

Media blasting aluminum parts is very safe for the substrate as long as the blaster (or coater) uses the right media and the right pressure. I've blasted quite a few covers with no adverse effects.
