^ looks like one thats rolling around in town, old man drives it, has black 16 inch circuit 8s haha except the body is a lil rough haha
This topic always pisses me off...why does it matter? Jesus, it's like middle school all over again. I don't give a **** if you're wearing an outfit from Kmart or Abercrombie, just ****ing look nice and put together.
Who cares as long as his car looks good? (This coming from someone with Rotas, fake spoon mirrors, Koni's/GC, K20a2 and SSR header. There's a mix..)
(fwiw - I'm not taking this personally, I stopped caring about other people's opinions a long time ago. What makes me sad is how we attack each other in our own community...makes me miss the dub scene.)

1. guys post clean nice looking hatch with his new ridiculously priced (even in my opinion) real spoiler that cost more than his replica wheels, tires and lip.
2. crxfornow vaguely comments on the mix of really expensive and not so expensive parts
3. edizzle attacks crxfornow with spinner hubcap comment
4. i attack edizzle because i thought he was lashing out unnecessarily
5. this actually had nothing to do with fake versus original/real parts, it was a comment over the very obvious mix of the two, which you dont see that often. most guys who are into that bys wings real/baller/original or whatever scene arent gonna put rotas and a ebay lip on there car, thats just not what there into.
just like the guys who have cars that they built with the cheaper/easier to get/knock off/ yet still function similar or the same as the original part arent going to normally drop half there build cost into a spoiler.
it was just odd to see that mix of parts, thats all.
as far as the fake vs real stuff goes though, im not gonna lie and say my "real" advan wheels roll any better than my buddys "fake" rpf1 wheels (hell, his are actually lighter) or my "real" personal steering wheel feels any different than my buddys "fake" nrg style steering wheel...... there are slight differences between all original and knock off parts, some better and some worse.
to tell you the truth, i just enjoy having stuff that other people dont want to spend the money on, dont have the money to spend, cant find, cant buy cause its discontinued, cant run to the local parts store and order, or just plain arent into it (the scene) enough to even know what the hell it is. i like the attention i get from having the baller parts.
lets just be honest, when is the last time anybody said "damn son, check out those rota slips that dude has!" and wasnt being sarcastic. lol
if feeling like that makes me a bad or shallow person then so be it, i enjoy my car, my hobby and my parts and thats what really counts no matter what part of the scene your into.... fake or real doesnt matter as long as you enjoy it.
edit: for the record, im not immune to putting knocks on my car either steve, and it doesnt make us any less cool. lol

I too don't want a cookie cutter build, but I don't want to spend all my money trying too hard either, but that's me. I do understand the appeal of having what others don't, but that feeling is so short lived that it seems pointless. I've broken it down to just enjoying driving my car since to be original with a 95 civic would cost me as much as a brand new Si in the long run.

Also, I'm not above the joy of name brand and elitism, most people do it in some way, shape or form. (I'm just hoping mine will be all under the hood.)

Steve
I really don't see Slipstreams being a problem, but when people try to get them to look like the real deal that's when it gets outta hand'. I know the build quality isn't as good as SW388's but look at the price difference.
and the size and offsets they are offered in.
i saw they make a slip in a 15x7 +35 that seems like a pretty aggressive looking wheel never seen one in person though, was thinking about getting a set for my car and wrapping them in some azenis but went a different route
If I could rep you, I would. While I don't agree with you, you're completely honest and I respect that.

Anyone here have power windows in there EG? I'm curious if there is any reputable place to buy a power window conversion. Here in Southern CA, junks yards don't have much.
i sold some ex coupe doors to a buddy of mine for his dx coupe and he used the guts, switches and door panels and then spliced power into the switches or the ex door harness (not sure which, i just know he didnt use the whole ex harness) and everything works and looks like stock.
i wouldnt trust any shops to do something like that, but then again what can you trust shops to do lol. nobody touches my car but me unless its a alighnment.

I believe there is a guy on here that has conversion harnesses made for people that want to convert to power doors. I would search for you but I'm feeling a little lazy lol.
