((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
just bought a frost white EH3. and i can't wait to start working on it. and it is going to have clear tail lights too.
Yes I'm prob considered "old" (31) to lots of you - and i DEF consider myself old-skool. There are the "hey look at me" guys, and there are the people that document (build thread) as a way to give back to the movement instead of just being a CONSUMER of the movement.
Sometime I do a build thread : http://www.azht.net/forum/showthread.php?t=98168
And sometimes I don't. With the thefts here in Atl though I've largely matured past the build threads... but I am still not against giving back to the movement. Different strokes for different folks.

Also - a build thread to link you to means I don't have to answer the same question 1000 times after I post the finished product, or after I post a video of a run at the track.
You can see it here all the time... some1 posts a pic and then it starts :
What wheels are those? What size tires? what's your suspension setup?? How much power you making? What's the paint code? Etc. Build thread means I get to enjoy my efforts instead of answering questions all day - :D

Yeah I agree with everything being said. What I mean by "not that serious" is you can have a built car and no thread, its not that serious. Like not a big deal.
Its just good documentation IMO, some people do it for different reasons though.
Plus what happens when youre stuck or have a question, going to post a thread everytime? With a build thread your subscribers can chime in and help you out.

It's like saying "heyyyyyy - welcome to the movement... glad you got it completed ---- I'll take it!!!!" Ha ha. A vehicle is prob the WORST place to dump a lot of time/money... if you don't agree then you're in the wrong scene. Just know that going into it that in 30 secs or less it can be GONE (theft, crash, etc). It's a wrap.Security FIRST. I don't know how many threads/posts I've started on the Atlanta boards RE: security. No1 listens...
I like build threads. Sometimes people do one process, differently and get different results. Maybe it's the result I want, maybe not, etc. Also, it's nice documentation for the owner IMO. Shows that they're putting in the time and work for the love of their car. Not that you need a build thread to do so, but it's nice to see it.
I agree w/ cha HBK. Here is my rule of thumb that I go by. And EG? There are thousands of build threads to pull from... I'm not about to start another 1 - it's been seen, it's been done. BUTTT if I'm about to go all out (like I'm known to do - LOL) I may toss up an EG build. But if it's something uncommon/rare --- I'm more inclined to toss up a thread... example of that is the build of my 77 carb'd + boosted hatch that I already posted on here.
Here is where it's gets murky for me - my streetfighters. Yes my daily's are even quick - the people that know me know I am sneaky as f*ck when it comes to racing. But if I am building a car STRICTLY for street-fighting... good luck finding a thread. My B13 Sentra is a "ghost" in ATL. It's not real... it doesn't exist - LOL. I roll up to Gwinnett in it, take people's lunch money - and disappear. Also - you have to BE HONEST about your surroundings. If you live in a high-theft area - do yourself a favor --- kill the build threads... it turns into a shopping list for criminals.
1) you have your location on your profile
2) you have people commenting on build threads with STUPID **** like "nice build man --- I pass you almost everyday on 3rd street" or "man, I see this parked all the time at Best Buy - you must work there". THOSE kinda people are DORKS and need to fall on a knife. Thieves have the internet too.
3) you go get an oil change, or maintenance done at a shop and you pay with your credit card. You DESERVE to have your car stolen. I can get a key duped at walmart for 96 cents in 120 seconds. So NOW I get a key, and I have your address bc you used your card. NOW I'm not even "stealing" your car - I'm just taking it bc I have a key - LOL. You basically just gave a key, mods list, AND address to a guy who works at Jiffy Lube for $6/hr and has been in and around your car seeing EVERY mod for the last 15 minutes. Congrats.
My security installs are done OUT OF TOWN, and I pay with cash. They try thoough... they are SMOOTH as hell too. I just KNEW this guy in Jacksonville was scheming... "name, address, phone number?" EL OH ****ING EL. You are the ONE person on the planet that knows more about my vehicle security than me bc YOU INSTALLED IT and you think you're getting my address TOO?? LMFAO... no thanx. Here's the cash - bye.
So proceed with caution w/ build threads... and don't make dumb comments on some1s build thread that could put their project in jeopardy.
Happy tuning.

Prime example... I've got a folder upstairs w/ every serial number on my blocks/trannys. I've seen police recover stolen blocks/trannys WITH A PLATE on them... and the guy KNOWS it's his gear but can't prove it to the police b/c they didn't document anything. I can tell you any number on any engine in my yard. And I also dremel things on purpose, take pics of discoloration/scars on parts etc. And that's just what I'll post... there's lots of things that I won't post regarding security - haha. But I'm always joking on the ATL boards for the thieves to come see me -- I'll be ready - heh heh.

Diff front lip, diff rear wing no eye lids would do that car a lot of justice! The paint is dope though. It would be nice to see the wheels contrast it a little better or maybe even another set all together but not bad.

Its a JDM cluster that this guy modded. I plan on sending him a msg for details. I know its custom because thats his old cluster that was on his car before since they're both 240km/h.
He used Spoon needles for sure but have no idea how he modded the rest and added a 10.5k redline.
