No, Im just keeping the thread moving.
As far as the CX goes, its the only trim that came without moldings as far as I know. The only other trim thats really low end is the MX which you've probably never heard of but it was really basic too and sold in Japan. Even that HAD moldings so I don't blame you for saying its weird for a RHD to not have moldings.
Then again a lot of RHD owners remove their moldings so
I like the stock equipped look of EGs like the one above putting work in. Thats it right there, thats the basics of a real clean ride that will get looks anywhere it goes even though its "stock" and "old". B16A, mint body, fogs, lip, good panel fitment, hitting the track on some fresh wheels and thats it! Too bad we weren't offered the nicer interior or motor but nothing we can't swap.
If that car didn't have moldings, it would look weird IMO.
The yellow eh2 just looks weird and I think its because of the color. Yellow is an iffy color to paint. I see a lot of people that have it and it just looks cheap. Yellow has to have everything on point or it shows. You want to make sure that a good body shop paints it well, in the original color. Either that or maybe Phoenix yellow from the itr I could see working but any other variation and it might not work 100%. It doesnt look terrible, it looks alright actually. The hood and mirrors not being painted+antenna sorta kill the look. Amber corners and yellow don't go well either but yeah, not too far from getting it to look nice.
That and the "type-r" style lip kills it. I hate that lip and really not sure why so many people swing that way.

the black hatch like posted is timeless. simple and clean which will never go out of "style". i dont know if i could use the word hate but i cant stand mudflaps on track cars.
i agree that yellow is a tough one to pull off and it is a make or break color in my opinion.
people go "type R" style lips because they are cheap from your local shop.

,i mean i dont hate cx's i like them A LOT. but if your going to build a cx, dont make it rhd because it really does look cheap & dosent go. at least make the effort in putting side moldings on it if you do. and as for "converting" a usdm car to rhd i wouldnt bother. its just lowering the value on the car. and making a replica of another. i'd just import a shell if you want to go rhd. thats just my opinion, other then that as you said any CLEAN simple car will always turn heads as you said with nice paint and perferct fitting panels
Lowering the value of a cheap car? OH NOES! LOL. That makes 0 sense. A Bone STOCK CX vs a BONE STOCK RHD CX --- which one will sell for the most money? And I'm talking street price not what KBB thinks it's worth. A converted hatch has the same value to your insurance company as a LHD one unless you get it insured for the actual value like my RHD DX.

^ you just said it yourself buddy, im not talking about street price. im talking book value. will still cost the same amount & you just spent 3k on some hard body bondo on your fire wall & chopping your car in half. yeah i dought id buy a converted car
couldnt have said it any better

It would be bonus points for being RHD. It would be fun since its different and you would get looks all over the place from regular people lmao. Imagine being at the stoplight 3 feet away from another driver haha. Going on the drive through in reverse or with a passenger to grab the food lulz.
Thats just a bonus though, I'm more inclined to get one due to the advantages of a JDM spec, not so much the bonus points for being rhd. B16A, low mileage, cleaner body, jdm interior, cluster, stockness, no rust, long led spoiler, nicer muffler, ac and ps,pw,pwl, etc...
As far as the purple one, what's to start on a 400hp LS turbo RHD CX? ANY car can be brought back to life or destroyed w/ just a few choices from the owner. I've sold works of art and had them destroyed in a coupla short years... and I have bought POSs and brought them back to life. It's all about the vision of the owner... and sadly, his wallet as well. You must have masterpieces in your garage since you're so critical - and if you do congratulations. But not every car you see online is "finished" - most are a work in progress.
4 wheels down...
Baby J
I dont even remember the last time Ive seen someone convert to rhd by pillar cutting opposed to welding in a new firewall. Just sayin.
Yeah true. I wouldn't say it lowers the value, but i understand what youre saying. It lowers its authenticity. I just think a car should be kept to whatever it is from factory. Firewall conversions have the advantage of being legal RHD depending on the state so thats the upside of it. A lot of work though but people do it.

I have a few RHD stories that would just blow your mind.
TWICE I've had people crash into another car from looking at me (1 in the hatch, and another time in my RHD Austin Cooper) - LOL. The 1st one was low speed roll - the 2nd was at about 40mph. I felt like it was my fault. LOL
The other thing, I got pulled over for speeding - had my brother in the car in the passenger seat. I had already handed my lic/reg to my brother - when the cop asked for it my brother gave it to him. (Cop still hasn't noticed that there was no steering wheel over there).
COP: You know how fast you were going?
ME: Yessir - we were going about 55 in a 50
COP: *interrupts* I'm not talking to you.
ME: *confused* *thinking* "ummmmmm - okay"
COP: 5 over is way too fast here anyway. Where are you guys headed?
ME: We are actually headed over to---
COP: *interrupts* Sir - again. I am speaking to the driver.
ME: But I AM THE DRIVER!!!
He looked confused as f*ck and finally the light comes on and he "get's it" - and like a dork has to come around to my side of the car. NOW he's tryna be all friendly and ask q's about the car - LOL. He let me go but he turned red as f*ck - LOL. He totally made himself look like an ***.
- Another cop just straight pulled me over... he was a DICK. He did an illegal uturn adn almost wrecked his car just to get to me. He didn't say hi, ask for insurance, NOTHING.
COP: "You know this is illegal in America. Sure is! That's why you're getting pulled over. Unless you're military you're illegal"
In my mind I'm thinking "LMFAO. ILLEGAL IN AMERICA - like there is a NATIONAL law and it's not state-specific - LOL". Furthermore military has NOTHING to do w/ anything (although I am ex-Air Force). I was cracking up @ RoboCop in my head. You know the type - been a cop for exactly 18 mins, is about 5'4 130lbs, no gf, never been in charge of **** his whole life and prob got beat up in high-school.
ME: "Well I guess you could go to the post office and write tickets all day with the mailmen huh?"
- This guy had me pulled over for 20 minutes just bc I pissed him off. He wasn't even doing anything. He was just yapping on his personal cell phone making love to it talkin' to his friends or something. 2nd cop rolls up, he waves for the 2nd cop to take off. Then he held me there for almost another 8 or 9 mins and then just left. Just pulled around me and drove off. WHAT A DICK
The "unkool" things about RHD.
1) passing on a 2 lane. You know how you peek around the left side of a car to see if something's coming? FORGET IT. You better hope you can see through their back/front windows (most times you can't bc of tint) or you're screwed. If there is a sweeping right hand curve you can dip to the right, look around them and then dip back around to the left to pass.
2) Drive-thrus for obvious reasons. I've done it both backwards as well as forwards - reaching across sucks ***.
3) opening your door into curbs if you side-street park (in the direction that you are traveling). I miss getting out on the street side vs the sidewalk side.
4) left-hand turns through big intersections get tricky if you're in the right-hand lane
--- kool trick me and my brother do (we do this in LHD cars too). I'll let my seat all the way down and work the gas pedal. He keeps his right arm VERY low, grabs the bottom of the steering wheel to drive the car and looks STRAIGHT ahead like he's bored. He even waves at people we pass with his left hand - LMFAO. They are always looking like "WTF!!!! There is no1 driving that car!!!" LOL

LOL. It is. When you go on dates they keep saying "it feels weird over here" and no1 seems to know what to do with their hands.
LOL. Their brain is telling them that since they are on that side of the car they should be doing something (oooh - I know!! Like DRIVING maybe? LOL).
Occasionally I still walk to the wrong side of the car (if I haven't drove one of the RHD cars in a while). And of course shifting from left to right takes some getting used to. Every1 wants to hop in, go to 5th gear and take off. They also feel the need to take a left turn and start driving down the left side of the road after the turn (haven't figured that one out yet).
By far the most dangerous part of it is where your head is centered in relation to your lane. In a LHD car you are used to your head being just left of center in your lane. I notice that when other people have been driving my car for over an hour they kinda start to ignore the lines and put their head just left of center of the lane. This means that half the car is over the line. NOT good. They do fine when they 1st get in and start driving - but over time the natural tendency to put your head where it "normally" is wins and they start drifting.
I'll say this though - you know how a lot of people in SpoCom like to ride "dirty" w/ improper tags insurance/license - don't do it in a RHD car. They love running your plates and following you around for a few miles. LOL. Keep your paperwork straight if you wanna play with RHD. When my hatch sells I'll keep the Cooper for my RHD fix. Ha ha.
