We are on the same boat. I have spoon cams and they aren't making the power they should only because my compression isn't as high as the cams require.

what are you sitting at currently?

i'm at the stock 11.1:1 and i'm thinking of going a little higher to help the cams out a bit...but talking to a Toda rep, i was told i 'should' be able to hit 190whp with my current setup...

We are the same. I am at 11.0 and I'm making 188hp and 142.3tq. And they told me the same thing. That if I want with those cams I could hit the 200 mark but that I need more compression.

hey man, at least you're making some decent power still!

i only hit a 170whp and 137lbs of tq on a SAE corrected dynojet. it was pretty sad. all because i didn't degree my cams in when i installed them.

playing with vtec engagement messed things up pretty badly too...lol!

vtec @ 5400 = 141whp
vtec @ 6700 = 170whp

Use guys using a Spoon or Mugen headgasket to bump compression? I did it on my GSR with USDM ITR pistons, and compression is approx 11.4:1

Well I'm using the Hondata s300 so that's why I'm making that much. All I need now is more compression to make it go a little higher. Vtec engages at 5400 also and not making as much as you. After though it just rockets to 7800 where it peaks at 188HP.

I am not. I am using a stock GS-R headgasket. So that could be a way to go a little higher.

I've got an AEM EMS, but i'm probably going to sell instead since it's beyond overkill for my setup!

I was thinking of the thinner headgasket as well (Toda, Mugen, Spoon) but a lot of guys i talk to and trust, tell me to use OEM and use high comp pistons instead (just for added piston to valve clearance). i'm not sure what route to take yet as i'll be yanking out my motor soon to send my shell off to the paint shop.

I have a stupid question. If I still have a d-series can I run the knuckles and front brakes/calipers from a 2000 Integra LS? I was thinking the axles wouldn't fit, but I'm a noob on that stuff. Guy is willing to let me have them for free if I install a couple kill switches for him....

yup, you should be able to as those knuckles are pretty much the same as the EX coupe knuckles (10" rotor).

hmmm, that i'm not sure about.

you'd have to swap your rack out to a power-steering rack (ie: DX, EX, Si). find yourself a pump, all the lines and the cooler lines as well (that go behind your front bumper), p/s res.tank, belts, and bracket to attach the pump to your block...

better off trying to find all that at the wrecker and hope it doesn't leak.

also, if you're going to the dealer, prepare to get *** raped. i sold an d-series P/S hose to a customer once at full retail. guy paid over $400 CAD for it in the end, and it was just the big hose.

i just installed PS into my VX, it's not that hard, since i bought the complete PS unit from a guy that had an SI going to K-series

basically you need to drop your subframe, put the P/S subframe on since it's actually different, then hook up the lines, cooler, reservoir, etc.

took me about 45 mins on the floor with a floorjack

note to self, PS racks are almost double the weight than non PS racks, trying to install one yourself isn't fun LOL

My friend had a freak ITR that made 191whp with i/h/e and ran a 14.2 on street tires. This was an actual ITR, not a hatch. Now he has a turbo D15B EK hatch that also makes 191whp . But like 170-something lb-ft of torque and is waay faster.

dumafit...

the crossmembers are the same its just the bracket that holds the rack on that is different... we were changing the whole crossmembers out too when we go manual w/ our k's then found you just need the bracket!

they are NOT the same, i've gone through this debate with somebody else, there are holes on the PS subframe that are not present on the non-PS subframe, and the mounting holes for the 19mm on the rack are NOT in the same position as the non-PS subframes
