if your block is covered in baked-on oil crusties, you'll have to use engine degreaser...strong stuff, smells odd and acidy, but works great when combined with a brush and a hose. just don't leave it on metals for too long, i think it'll etch.
i've got that gap as well, but i think it may be me not putting back the interior correctly when i gutted it once.
and yes, that plug is for the sunroof incase your motor dies..uses a big allen key i believe.

lol, my car is filthy as well. it hasn't really been sunny enough lately to give me time to wash it, the engine bay is totally neglected as well
i washed it few times at the Acura dealership i used to work at, but got lazy and don't want to drive there to wash a car...
my temps here are hovering around 1C...brrr...
pic of the snow i had last month:

i raise you with my snow plow! i actually tore my bumper off once and high-centered my car...snow was up to my tranny mount almost
WD-40 for the rails work great though! Apply it from outside
lol. PWN this noob.
EG-BOY, you need to quote the post that you found pagesssss and pages before this one. A K swap is expensive and you need to know what youre doing. Also hard to install, theyre harder than most honda swaps as there is a lot involved. Don't bother.

That's a little wrong. Simple green concentrate or simple green left on paint (when not properly rinsed) can damage your paint. I say this since I could soak a stock wrinkle black valve cover in simple green and it would lift and remove the stock powder coating with little to no effort (and that was in a diluted concentrate).

X2 dont leave the simple green on your paint.
One tip for cleaning your bay is to drive it around and do it while under the hood is sill warm, the grease comes off easier that way.
Also I would not use WD40 on your sunroof, it is oil not grease. WD40 actually works pretty good at getting rid of grease. As far as what to use? I have no clue I have never had to grease either of mine.

The 2nd part of his explination is true. Check out this link on how to remove paint from a model.

I had once used simple green to wash my car, figured to let it sit and maybe it would help clean it better, well I come back 10 minutes later and I noticed some color off my car was in the water when I rised my car off.
For the sunroof rails you guys should be using a heavy grease. WD40 will not remain for long periods of time. Try a grease made specifically for bearings or window regulators. I have some Nissan window regulator grease that works great.

. I went out there to do it and came right back in haha.
