bastard...i needs one ASAP lol
*rolls eyes*
If I can get my ebay wing to fit better than a VIS by working with the mounting holes, I'm pretty damn sure how you install it has a big impact on how it fits. Also, I've heard about the spoon fitment issues on the side, but they truly pale in comparison to some of the hack job ebay ones that I've seen.
That is very true. The ebay one that I had fit high on one side and even on the other. So I took a little fiberglass off the high side and it fit perfect. So it totally depends on installation. Although my real Spoon one fit a lot better fresh out of the box.
All in all, I did mess around with the Spoon wing for almost two hours. I opened up the holes on the hinges to try to compensate for the poor fitment but in the end I would have had to grind away a far amount of resin to get it to fit like I would expect. I couldn't bring myself to mar up a signed Spoon wing especially when I knew going into it I wasn't going to have it on my car all the time. Maybe my hopes were too high. I expected something of that reputation and price to fit well without modification. I'd like to get a Benen wing but we all know the likelyhood of someone selling one anytime soon.
Sorry guys, the search is down for me. I got this bottle, is this what you use to clean the engine bay? Ive always heard of people saying simple green but Im afraid I might of gotten the wrong one. And also, how do you use it? Just spray it on there or mix it? Thanks
yup, that stuff works great. but some really crusty parts, you may want to use engine degreaser...much stronger acid, just don't get it on any chrome or aluminum bits (wash it off quickly if you do!)
I will have to agree that the spoon duckbill does not fit the greatest but deff not the worst. I have one on my car from a company called body kits northwest (BKNW) and it fits great and is one of the best quality ones I have seen......although I think they want $300 + shipping for them now so they are cheaper than spoon but deff not ebay,
Also on the simple green if you clean your aftermarket wheels with it it will take the ink off of the wheel spec stickers on the inside of the rim like where is is printed on the sticker "+38"

Now I'm a bit of up in the air on which duckbill to buy. Why spend extra money for spoon when I can just find one that fits good if not better then a real one for a price way less.
Hmm....
