Thanks @k-series, its got a long ways to go. Ill post some pics as soon as I get the block prepped to b shipped out. As for the bolt in cage, its an authentic cusco with 3 bolt on optional bars so its got some rarity.

Pretty cool that you bought it, but it will forever be known as "BrandonRyan's hatch".... Good luck with the project.

 

That's why I don't like it. It's there for "rarity" and bolt in cages aren't very safe. It's a "melon crusher" for a street car or a "maybe saves me " in a track car. Too middle of the road. I'd go with nothing or full chromoly personally.

GREETINGS BOYS N GIRLS! i need some help....

i need to find an A Pillar gauge pod that fits 3x60mm gauges...in a RHD EG Hatch....can anyone help link me to some? preferably a site that has international shipping (to Malaysia)...but if they dont...its fine too... i can get someone to help order it.

saw a couple on ebay for those universal ones....but unsure as to the fitment in the hatch...going for about USD20... so hopefully theres some in that price for the hatch (coz i gotta pay expensive shipping too)

also, i wouldnt mind on suggestions on where to mount these 3x60mm gauges SAFELY... im trying to avoid mounting on the dash as i dont want my car broken into. i also do NOT have the double din centre console so that option is out.


and if anyone is wondering why 60mm... got a damn good deal on a used set...

@whiteslips, i highly doubt that. In a few months the only thing on that car that you will b able to recognize it by is paint color. There will b a build thread as soon as the block gets back from benson. I have a 10pt cage in my other hatch and honestly I don't drive it for that reason. I understand what you mean by weld in chromoly cages because like I said I have one. For my new car, it's honestly a show car so the cage is perfect.

how do u like it? ive been considering getting one but kinda worried about the EG6 rear compartment thing... not sure if its able to open or even remove (to access the spare tire) with the X Bar.

 

It looks good I like it just a bitch to put on. And there's enough room to take off the spare and put it back in with interior.

 

 

Sup guys... have a question with my EG and wanted to know if anyone could help.

Just picked up my hatch about a month ago; has a d16y8 w/ p28 ECU. Right now, it has a small *** intake mani and intake tubing. I'm thinking they kept the old parts from before the swap, and bolted them onto the y8 just to save some $$. Problem is, the car bogs pretty bad and up top is very, very powerless and I'm thinking the intake + mani are to blame.

So now I have a proper y8 intake mani, but I'm wondering what changes/swapping I'm gonna have to do to get it to work in my hatch (OBD1). I know for sure to swap over the injectors, and so far I've read a bit about having to change the IAT sensor from it's current location to the intake tubing. Not sure what else though.. thanks a bunch!
