NJ- everytime you post you should already expect me to hate, LOL! with that in mind...thanks for posting the WORST looking wagon EVAARRRR!!!! I'd rather walk then drive that car!
Maybe it's just me, but I think the rusted hood is part of an overall look that is usually for cars that are possibly kind of beat, but in a good way. You know, completely slammed, dents, whitewall tires, steelies, matte/flat paint - I hate to say "rat rod" but that's kind of how I envision the rusted hood look. I think the "in" factor of the rusted hood is great for the people who have kind of beat cars - it's kind of "gangster" I suppose.
I think your wagon is hellafied clean and maybe the rusted hood wouldn't really jive with the uber cleanliness. I think that's a good thing, really. I mean there's no harm in finding a beat-*** hood and sanding it down and puting acid on it (since it never raisn in Socal, right?) and popping it on to see how you like it.

With so many dings and dimples throughout the body and a clear coat that is pretty much non-existant, it has this sort of oldskool, socal beach steelow!!
Last week Ecology yeiled a perfect hood. It's not straight. It comes with some dimples and a few other character blemishes that makes it perfect. Couldn't pass it up, so I snatched it for 20 bucks. Still have to take it down to metal; then hit it w/ someVHP H2o2, some Vinegar and slap a new H emblem on.
We'll see.
