hey guys, i know this has probably been covered but i dont feel like back tracking 500+ pages

anyways, i got a 93' si and the weather stripping doesn't seem to do it's job. it leaks when it rains, and it's annoying to get into the car with a wet seat. i know 93's have that as a common problem, but are there any fixes that'll take care of that? i know i can replace all the weather stripping, but i don't have 600 bucks laying around....any short term fixes??? thanks in advance guys

I have heard that lubbing the seals up helps out alot. But I havnt tried it out yet. I just tend to put a towel on my seat during the daily fl thunderstorms

you have to replace your seals to 95+ seals because thats when they were recalled and fixed.

Yeah although the 5th and 6th gen vettes have greatly improved handling, why on god's earth would you want that POS... General Motors could really learn a thing or two from OPEL.

600 bucks for new weather stripping? So thats how Honda makes money. Ok seriously, I heard, but I'm not certain about this claim, Honda was allowing one free replacement for all del Sols - something like a recall.

But please someone verify this because I have the impression I'm speaking out of my *** and I don't want to give anyone false hopes.

no youre right James..Honda did do a recall on the del sol roof seals..but if your car has already been recalled(like mine)..they wont do it

there was also a recall on the del sol rear defrost..theyre known to break/shatter your rear window..which has happened to me and i had to pay for another window

yay for me! I actually provided helpful information! hehe!

I actually read about it on the old thread, but it was so long ago I couldn't be certain.

Well I never park in the rain... because 90% of the time it's at the shop being fixed for one thing or another...
